(Minghui.org) Police in Shantou City, Guangdong Province ransacked the home of Ms. Pan Jinglan and her husband after the couple filed a criminal complaint against Jiang Zemin, holding him responsible for ordering the violent persecution of Falun Gong.
Five plainclothes officers claiming to be from the Chengdong District Residence Committee and the Fengxiang Residence Committee went to Ms. Pan's home at around 10:00 a.m. on October 19, 2015. Her husband invited them in, thinking they were visiting the residents in his neighborhood.
Ms. Pan's husband told the officers, “Before practicing Falun Gong, my wife and I used to suffer from many illnesses. Sometimes, we were bedridden for one or two months. But after practicing Falun Gong, all of our illnesses disappeared, and we are very healthy.”
Ms. Pan got home at around 11:15 a.m. When the police asked if she still practiced Falun Gong and had mailed a lawsuit against Jiang Zemin, Ms. Pan replied that she had. “Jiang Zemin framed Falun Gong and launched the persecution. He has deceived people and committed countless crimes. I have a responsibility to help clear the name of Falun Gong and my Teacher!”
Two more police officers arrived and began ransacking Ms. Pan's home without showing a warrant. One of the officers was named Liu Xixiong. The police stopped searching at around 1:30 p.m. They confiscated Falun Gong books, a laptop, a radio receiver and recorder, and other personal belongings.
Before leaving, the officers threatened the couple that they could return to arrest Ms. Pan at any time and have her sentenced to prison.
