(Minghui.org) Many Falun Gong practitioners in Dezhou City, Shandong Province are demanding that the city and the district office conduct administrative reviews of the police there. Their demands stem from the police harassment they experienced after filing criminal complaints against Jiang Zemin, the former head of the Chinese communist regime.
Local practitioners have been mailing complaints against Jiang to the Supreme People's Procuratorate and the Supreme People's Court since July 2015.
At least 136 practitioners have been harassed by police, of which 72 practitioners faced illegal detention. The accumulated detention time is almost 600 days.
Several practitioners went to the Dezhou City Hall on December 24, 2015, to demand administrative reviews of the police's activities. Many more mailed criminal complaints and administrative review requests to the Dezhou District Office and the Central Disciplinary Committee on December 28 and 30, 2015, as well as on January 4, 2016.
Later, three practitioners went to the Dezhou District Office and explained the situation. The guard in the main hall appeared to have orders to prevent them from seeing the respective personnel. On hearing that practitioners were there to file complaints, the staff member in question tried to have them removed from the premises.
The practitioners, however, retreated to the reception room and called the justice office. Still, that staff member refused to accept the case and suggested that they go to the Political and Legal Affairs Committee. When practitioners requested a meeting at that time, they were asked to wait until after the Chinese New Year.
Background
Tens of thousands of Falun Gong practitioners around the world have been filing lawsuits agains Jiang Zemin since 2015 for atrocities stemming from the 16-year persecution.
In 1999, Jiang Zemin, as head of the Chinese Communist Party, overrode other members of the Politburo Standing Committee and launched the violent suppression of Falun Gong.
The persecution has led to the deaths of many Falun Gong practitioners over the past 16 years. More have been tortured for their belief and even killed for their organs. Jiang Zemin is directly responsible for the inception and continuation of the brutal persecution.
Under his personal direction, the Communist regime established an extralegal security organization, the 610 Office, on June 10, 1999. The organization overrides police forces and the judicial system in carrying out Jiang's directive regarding Falun Gong: to ruin their reputations, cut off their financial resources, and destroy them physically.
Chinese law now allows its citizens to be plaintiffs in criminal cases, and many practitioners are exercising that right to file criminal complaints against the former dictator.
