(Minghui.org) Recently a fellow practitioner said, “I am the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance” and, “I am doing Fa-rectification.” I feel this is not appropriate.
In Zhuan Falun, Master said, “The most fundamental characteristic of this universe, Zhen-Shan-Ren, is the highest manifestation of the Buddha Fa.” As Falun Dafa practitioners, we are being assimilated to the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, which are the highest principles of the universe. How can we claim that we are Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance? What mindset led her to say this?
When I shared my reaction with the above-mentioned practitioner, she shrugged it off with an excuse. Other practitioners said this occurred because her understanding of the Fa was at a different level.
In my opinion, this is an issue of whether we can adhere to the Fa, and I feel that practitioner is validating herself and thus going off course. When she talked about how well she's done, she did not validate the Fa and did not give Master any credit.
Other practitioners occasionally say similar things. When we brag about ourselves, it may indicate that our thoughts are not pure and aren't based on the Fa.
In Essentials for Further Advancement, Master said,
“Be careful: A Buddha will be shocked by such wild statements, intentional or not. Don’t create obstacles for your own cultivation practice. You must also cultivate your speech in this regard. I hope you can understand.”
We should all look within to examine which hidden attachments led to such remarks.
We have cultivated for many years, and I hope that we can all cherish our remaining opportunities and walk the rest of our path well.
