(Minghui.org) A Shenyang father has been denied visits with his daughter, who is serving time for her faith in Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline being persecuted by the Chinese communist regime.
Ms. Sun Shujia, 37, was reading Falun Gong books together with some friends at a private home on April 17, 2014 when a group of officers broke in and seized them. She was later sentenced to 3 years and 2 months.
The authorities kept her at a local detention center for more than two years before moving her to a local prison in September 2016.
Her family has tried many times, unsuccessfully, to visit her since her prison transfer.
Most recently, her father went to the prison again on November 2. Two guards received him, but refused to let him see his daughter.
Mr. Sun grew worried when the guards told him that his daughter ate very little. They replied no when he asked if she was on a hunger strike.
Mr. Sun pleaded them to grant him a meeting with his daughter, as he was really concerned about her well-being. The guards left without responding.
The elderly man calls for the public to help seek release of his daughter, as she broke no law by exercising her constitutional right to freedom of belief.
