(Minghui.org) I often make phone calls and send Falun Dafa informational materials to the police. My hope is that they will come to understand Dafa and thus stop persecuting Falun Dafa practitioners.
Many police officers have withdrawn from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliated organizations after having learned about the true nature of the Party. This has led them to stop persecuting practitioners.
On one occasion, two officers came to the brainwashing center to ask me questions about Dafa. They appeared to be sympathetic, especially since I was persecuted in a brainwashing center at the age of 72.
“We know that Falun Dafa is good,” they said. Besides, ”Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is also good and practitioners are nice people. We have already quit the CCP and its affiliated organizations!”
Establishing a Good Relationship
When I went to Beijing to appeal for justice for Falun Dafa in February 2000, I was arrested and detained in a hotel. When I went to use the washroom I noticed some water soaked clothes, which smelled bad. I washed the clothes and hung them up to dry, hoping that it would show the goodness of practitioners and allow for a good relationship.
When I returned to my room, I sat down and did the one-hour sitting meditation. The officer on duty did not interfere with my meditation. After I returned home he greeted me with a smile when I met him. He knew that Falun Dafa practitioners are good people.
Treat Everyone with Compassion
When I was detained in the brainwashing center I befriended a police officer. He told me that he did not like working in that place.
Once he called his son and berated him.
“To teach and guide your son,” I said, “you should guide him with compassion and give positive advice. If you berate him, he may become rebellious and stop talking to you .”
He asked me why I still was in good spirits, despite being held in a brainwashing center where I was exposed to such a miserable atmosphere.
“We follow the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance with every thought and deed, which is the law of the universe. We treat everyone with compassion and we do not strike back when beaten or sworn at. Yet, such good people are detained and persecuted.”
Police Benefit for Treating Practitioners Kindly
I was detained in a brainwashing center for 10 months in 2000. An officer with a high rank knew that Falun Dafa practitioners are kind people and he was sympathetic towards us. One day at lunch, he shared his braised pork ribs with about seven practitioners. We were all moved.
I called the officer after I was released and said, “Do you remember when you shared your pork ribs with practitioners in the brainwashing center? There was more to your kindness than just pork ribs. You demonstrated that you are a kind person. Treating practitioners kindly earns you infinite merit.”
After he retired, he was offered a sought after job and could buy an apartment and car. His family quit the CCP and they are enjoying life.
Blood Pressure Returned to Normal
I went on hunger strike when I was held in a brainwashing center in 2004. The head of the center was told three days after I stopped eating. He ordered five men to force-feed me. They brought handcuffs and ropes and wanted to tie me to a bed frame.
I knew one of the officers had hypertension because I had seen him ask the doctor to check his blood pressure. I said to him in a low voice, “I am a good person and live by the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. Persecuting good people is a sin. You have hypertension right? For your own good, please don’t get involved in persecuting me!”
He took my advice and did not get involved in the force-feeding of me. When he was passing by my window the next day I asked him if his blood pressure was lower. He told me that he felt much better.
