(Minghui.org) A local Political Security Director in charge of suppressing Falun Gong practitioners in his jurisdiction kept looking to have a chat with my friend.
The director told my friend that he could not sleep well and felt stressed. He said that he had also read some Falun Gong books. He wondered if he was being punished for what he had done before.
“After talking to my colleagues,” he said, “I learned that many of them had the same symptoms.” My friend then urged him to stop participating in the persecution.
“But I need the job,” he said. “Perhaps I'll ask for a transfer.”
Another practitioner told me about a similar situation.
This practitioner had been arrested dozens of times. The captain of the Domestic Security Division in her area was very aggressive in persecuting Falun Gong. His name was even on the Minghui website's list of worst offenders.
In the past, he had said, “I am persecuting you. And I don't worry at all about being punished by the heavens.”
Yet, the captain recently seemed to hold a different view. He told this practitioner’s husband, “I'm quitting. Why don't you come to my office and take back the money we fined your wife?”
Previously, he would not waiver, despite the numerous practitioners who spoke with or wrote him about Falun Gong and the persecution. However, he has now changed.
In addition, more police personnel have stopped participating in the persecution. In another occurrence, two elderly practitioners went to a village 30 miles away from their homes to tell people about Falun Gong. They were arrested there by local police but were released the same day.
