(Minghui.org) My home was raided by the local police in December 2015. The reason cited was that I had filed criminal complaints with China's highest courts against Jiang Zemin, the former dictator who launched the persecution of Falun Gong.
My husband was at home at the time, while I was at work at a local restaurant. He told me later how our neighbors protected me. My Falun Gong practice is known in our community.
Along with the local police and people from the neighborhood committee, a 610 Office staff member was also present at the raid.
The police were looking for me, but as I was not at home, they tried to take my husband instead. As they were leaving, they met our neighbors at the front door of my house. One of the neighbors said to the police, “You ignore bad people and arrest good people. She hasn't committed any crimes. She simply wants to be healthy by practicing Falun Gong. How can you even consider raiding her home and taking the husband away?”
A woman from the neighborhood committee then yelled, “Which one of you dares to guarantee [that she is innocent]?”
“I do!” a woman in her seventies said, as she faced her. “She works hard at the restaurant every day. Her life isn't easy. Isn't it just that she practices Falun Gong that you come and try to arrest her? This is ridiculous.”
“If there's anything questionable about her, I will hold you accountable,” the woman from the neighborhood committee responded.
“Sure. I can take the responsibility.”
“Which restaurant does she work at?”
“I don't know. I wouldn't tell you even if I knew.”
The woman from the neighborhood committee turned around and asked the bystanders, “Does anyone know which restaurant she works at? Have any strangers visited her?”
The neighbors either remained silent or simply said that they didn't know.
The gang left me and my husband alone.
