(Minghui.org) While a father is still imprisoned for his belief, his daughter was arrested for the same reason a month before the 2016 Chinese New Year.
Mr. Yin Yucai, in his 80s, was sentenced to three-years-and-two-months in prison on June 13, 2014, for refusing to give up his faith in Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline being persecuted by the Chinese Communist regime.
He longed to see his daughter at the Chinese New Year, only to learn later that his daughter had been arrested on January 8 of this year for telling people about the persecution of Falun Gong.
Ms. Yin is a nurse at the Duchang County Blood Station, which was once headed by her father Mr. Yin. Following her arrest, the police ransacked her home and the local 610 Office ordered her employer to withhold everyone’s bonus, which effectively turned her coworkers against her.
The father-and-daughter’s latest incarceration is not new.
Mr. Yin served three years of forced labor and eight years in prison in the past. For a period of time Ms. Yin stopped practicing Falun Gong for fear of being persecuted like her father. She resumed practicing in 2011 after realizing there is nothing wrong with exercising one’s constitutional right to freedom of belief. Her efforts to uphold her belief, however, were met with her first arrest on September 7, 2013, and the latest arrest this January.
