(Minghui.org) In June 2015, Falun Gong practitioners in Shandong Province began collecting signatures from citizens, petitioning China's highest prosecution office and court to prosecute former Chinese leader Jiang Zemin for ordering the brutal persecution of Falun Gong.
The petition details Jiang's abuse of power in launching the persecution in which practitioners are detained and tortured for their faith, as well as his role in the harvesting of organs from living Falun Gong practitioners for profit.
In the past six months, the practitioners collected 739 signatures from residents in Yantai City and 545 from Jining City in Shandong Province.
This batch of signatures and others like it from across the country over the past several months seem to signify a greater sense of conscience among the public about Falun Gong. For many years since the persecution began, the general public had been deceived by the state-run media propaganda that slandered Falun Gong or were too afraid of the communist regime to show their support.
The petition forms were confirmed to have been received by the Supreme People's Court and Supreme People's Procuratorate.
