(Minghui.org) In 2012 my son was awarded a building contract at a cement board plant in Daqing City, Heilongjiang Province. He led a team of 70 workers and was very busy every day.
One day in May, he called me out of the blue and asked me to come to his work site as soon as possible. The next morning, I took the earliest bus to Daqing and met my son at the bus station. I was worried that something bad had happened to my son, so I was relieved to see that he was well.
He began to tell me what happened to one of his workers, Mr. Qu, who was in the thermal insulation team. Yesterday, while spreading out tarpaulins, he slipped and fell onto the moving track of a gantry crane. His leg was reeled into the crane's heavy machinery, and it was crushed and mangled to the point that they could see bits of bone sticking out. He was taken to the hospital, where the doctors said his injury was too severe to salvage the leg. His only option was amputation. Moreover, if his leg was not amputated within four hours, the leg would become infected, and an even higher level of amputation would be required.
Shocked by the news, my son immediately transferred Mr. Qu to the city's main hospital. The doctors at that hospital also recommended immediate amputation, or he would have to face dire consequences. As Mr. Qu's family had not yet arrived, and no one dared to sign the consent for surgery on Mr. Qu's behalf, the hospital cleaned the wound and waited for his family's arrival, with a temporary plan to operate the next day.
My son said, “If Mr. Qu's leg is amputated, I'll have to be responsible for looking after his entire family for the rest of his life. He added that in the contract he signed, the factory stipulated that it was not responsible for any injuries or deaths. Having run out of options, he decided to ask for my help.
We rushed to the hospital and went to Mr. Qu's room. Mr. Qu, a well-built man in his 40s, was in a lot of pain when we saw him. His face was pale, and his injured leg was draining bloody fluid into a container. After we introduced ourselves, I said, “I know a way to save your leg, but it all depends on how determined you are.”
I then asked if he had ever been a member of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) or its affiliated organizations. Mr. Qu replied that he had been in the Youth League and the Young Pioneers. “Let me share a divine secret with you, to save your leg,” I said. “You must sincerely tell the gods that you want to withdraw from the Youth League and the Young Pioneers, and that all the oaths you swore for the Party are invalid. Would you be willing to do that?”
Mr. Qu hesitated, and he cast a wary glance at the other patients in the room. I went on: “You're already in this state, and you are just hours away from becoming disabled. Is that how you want to live the rest of your life? If you want to save your leg, don't be frightened. Withdrawing from the CCP and its affiliated organizations will save your leg. But the CCP can't save your leg, nor can it save your life. Why don't you give it a try? Perhaps you'll soon experience a miracle.”
After listening to me, Mr. Qu nodded. “Alright,” he said.
I said, “From now on, you must constantly recite to yourself, 'Falun Dafa is Good; Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is Good.' Remember these nine words well.”
As we left the hospital, I told my son to buy Mr. Qu some nice food so that he would sense his employer's concern and compassion for him.
Two days later, we went to visit Mr. Qu again. This time, some of the color had returned to Mr. Qu's face, and he was much more alert and energetic. His leg was no longer draining as much bloody fluid.
“Does your leg still hurt?” I asked.
“It's much better now,” he replied. “However, the doctors want to monitor my condition for one more day. If my temperature remains normal, I won't need to have my leg amputated.”
I reminded him, “Don't forget to keep reciting the nine words!” He smiled and replied, “Don't worry, I'll keep reciting those nine words for the rest of my life.”
Two days later, when we went to the hospital again, the doctors told us that Mr. Qu's leg no longer required amputation. The drain in his leg had been removed, and there were no signs of infection. His leg could be treated conservatively from now on.
The next time we saw Mr. Qu in the hospital, he was sitting up and smiling. “A thin layer of skin has grown over the wound,” he said. “It's amazing—the gods and Buddhas are really looking after me!” Mr. Qu's fleshless and mangled leg went from being unsalvageable to receiving the all-clear in six days. Even the doctors saw it as a miracle.
When we went back to the worksite, Mr. Qu's colleagues asked us if his leg had been amputated. We replied that not only was the leg not amputated, but it had even begun to regrow new flesh. The workers were all stunned. One female supervisor in her 50s said, “We all saw how horribly injured his leg was. It was a mess of flesh and blood, and even his flesh had been turned to mince. How did it manage to grow flesh so quickly? That's impossible.”
“Mr. Qu put his faith in the divine,” I replied. “He not only withdrew from the CCP and its affiliated organizations, he also kept reciting, 'Falun Dafa is Good.' As a result, the gods and Buddhas protected him.”
That supervisor then asked my son about it. My son replied, “Yes, that's the truth.”
She immediately called her son over from the worksite. “Mr. Qu's leg has been saved,” she told him. “Listen to how it happened.” She then had me explain to her son what happened to Mr. Qu. When I finished, she said to her son, “Let's all withdraw from the CCP and its affiliated organizations, too!” I asked them what organizations they had joined, and I helped them withdraw under pseudonyms.
That supervisor also asked her son to call home, so that his wife and son could withdraw as well. I advised that the person withdrawing must do so personally, and one cannot withdraw on another person's behalf. While on the phone, the female supervisor advised her grandson to immediately agree to withdraw, and she handed the phone to me so that I could hear it for myself.
She kept telling me that she wanted her whole family to withdraw from the CCP. She even told the other workers present to make the right choice. “You should all withdraw as well. The fact that Mr. Qu's leg was saved is proof that the gods are protecting him!”
That day many workers also declared their withdrawal from the Party.
One month after Mr. Qu was discharged from the hospital, all the flesh had regrown on his leg. To avoid causing any further trouble for my son, Mr. Qu decided to return home. My son also gave him a year's worth of salary as compensation, which Mr. Qu happily accepted.
