(Minghui.org) Since the persecution of Falun Gong geared up in 1999, all administrative organs of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) have sought every method available to vilify and wipe out the practice, imprisoning and murdering tens of thousands and upending millions.
Below are some recent accounts of one of the CCP's most common forms of persecution used against Falun Gong practitioners: sending them to brainwashing centers.
Mr. Peng Xiaohui
Mr. Peng Xiaohui from Yueyang City, Hunan Province, went to attend a trial of three local practitioners on May 26, 2016. When he was registering, a local 610 Office agent began to question him. Then a court official announced that the courtroom was full and closed the door.
Mr. Peng turned around and left the courthouse with two elderly practitioners, but several 610 Office agents grabbed his arms and arrested him. Mr. Peng was taken to an “education center” in Xiuhua Mountain Village. It is really a brainwashing center.
Forced to Attend Brainwashing Sessions
The brainwashing staff searched him and asked him about the lawsuit against former Chinese dictator Jiang Zemin that he had filed. Mr. Peng said that he had done nothing wrong by attending a trial. He reminded them that filing a lawsuit was his constitutional right.
He protested, stating that the 610 Office personnel violated the law when they took him to the brainwashing center, and he refused to sign his name on their paperwork. The brainwashing staff told Mr. Peng that he had to attend the study sessions, obey the rules, and listen to the “professor.”
The brainwashing center assigned two people to follow Mr. Peng. The forced him to attend two lectures by a “professor” every day. The lectures were recycled lies from 1999 that defamed Falun Gong. Mr. Peng remained calm and told his minders the facts about the persecution of Falun Gong.
The “professor” soon realized that his lectures had no effect on Mr. Peng, and he began to urge Mr. Peng to write the three statements to indicate his willingness to stop practicing Falun Gong. “If you don’t cooperate now,” he threatened, “others not as nice as I am could inflict a lot of pain on you.”
Fingerprints Taken by Force
Eight days later, Mr. Peng was taken to a classroom. As soon as he walked in, two people grabbed his arms and a third held his right thumb to fingerprint three prepared documents with his name. He protested strongly and told them that the forged statements were invalid.
After they affixed his fingerprints to the documents, Mr. Peng was released.
Three More Practitioners Sent to Brainwashing Center
Mr. Bai Yinying
Yan Fengwen, Li Yujun, and six other officers showed up at Ms. Bai Yinying’s home on May 15, 2016. They were dispatched by the Huarong County Political and Legal Affairs Committee and the 610 Office to arrest Ms. Bai, a Falun Gong practitioner.
Ms. Bai was not home at the time, so the officers ordered her husband to call her. Ms. Bai was arrested when she returned home. The police also searched her home and confiscated her Falun Gong books and other personal items. They also took 300 yuan found in her purse.
Ms. Bai was taken to the brainwashing center in Xiuhua Mountain Village and held until May 26. During that time, the guards told her family not to visit her. After her release, the police ordered her son to restrict her mother’s movements to make sure that she did not contact other practitioners.
Ms. Fu Fanggui
Seven officers from Yueyanglou District went to Ms. Fu Fanggui’s home, picked her up, and took her to the brainwashing center in Xiuhua Mountain Village on April 20, 2016.
Mr. Yang Daowen
Mr. Yang Daowen was arrested at home on September 17, 2015, in Wukou Township, Pingjiang County. He was taken to the brainwashing center in Hengchang Mountain Village, Pingjiang County, and deprived of sleep for four days.
He was later transferred to Xiuhua Mountain Village for five more days. The brainwashing staff hit his face with a hardcover book, damaging his eardrum. Mr. Yang is now in a detention center, awaiting trial.
