(Minghui.org) When I talk to people about Falun Gong and the ongoing persecution in China, my heart is not moved when people don't agree with me. That's because I understand the importance of having both the right attitude and a righteous mindset, while making certain others understand my point of view.
I once saw an elderly man sitting near a pavilion. I walked over and began talking to him about Falun Gong. While waving his hand—as if to shoo me away—he said, “You can stop right there! My relatives practice it and they've been trying to get me to quit the Party for years now. I don't listen to a word they say!”
I talked with him for over 30 minutes then sincerely said, “It's a predestined relationship that brings us together. Perhaps we were relatives in our previous lives. Now that our paths have crossed again, I worry for your health and safety.” My sincerity touched his heart and he agreed to quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).
I once saw a bus full of villagers parked along the side of the road. When I began telling them about Falun Gong and the persecution, one woman looked at me and angrily exclaimed, “It's you! I recognize your face. Do you know that after listening to you talk, my husband now recites 'Falun Dafa is good' every day!”
I was a little shocked by her outburst and wondered what on earth could have happened to him to make her so mad at me.
I suddenly remembered clarifying the facts to the couple some months ago. I recalled that he had truly understood my words, while she had not.
I calmly said, “Look at me. Am I not a good person?” She looked me over carefully. I explained, “Your husband knows that by quitting the Party and reciting 'Falun Dafa is good. Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good,' he will be rewarded. Isn't it noteworthy that he is older, but still very healthy?” Her attitude changed and she began to smile.
The other passengers began asking me how they, too, could withdrew their membership in the Chinese regime, and begin reciting the words that the woman's husband was reciting. Some people even asked me to write down the words so that they'd remember them.
One weekend, I saw a crew of men working on the shoulder of a highway. I walked over to them and told them about Falun Gong and why it was imperative that they quit the Party. The first man that I had spoken to immediately agreed to quit. The second man that I had talked to refused.
The first man anxiously said, “Really, you should quit the Party. Don't let her worry about you when she leaves!” With his kind help, the second man agreed to quit, too.
Just then, the foreman appeared and asked me to leave. As I began to talk to him about Falun Gong, the first man rushed over and said, “Let me talk to him!” He then told the foreman what I had told him. A few minutes later, the foreman agreed to quit the Party using an alias.
Before I had left the work site, everyone that I had talked to expressed a desire to distance themselves from the Chinese regime.
I believe that their ability to comprehend what I was saying was due in part to my mental state at that time.
The man's words, “Don't let her worry about you,” is a true reflection of my inner thoughts.
People who speak to me say that I am kind. That's because I sincerely wish for them to understand that the persecution of Falun Gong is wrong. I feel this wish reflects the compassion of a true practitioner, and helps people to see through the CCP's lies and slander about Falun Gong.
When people feel my sincerity, they are touched by it. That's why, over the past few years, I have successfully persuaded over 10,000 people to quit the Party and its affiliated organizations. Examples like the above occur almost daily.
Of course, there are also people who refuse to quit the CCP when I speak to them. I am painfully aware that these incidents arise because my compassion is not yet strong enough.
I now understand why it's important to constantly improve our mind and heart nature. If we want to save more sentient beings, we must boldly and vigorously forge ahead!
