(Minghui.org) I won several awards in 2015, as a key member of a technical project development team. I am a Falun Dafa practitioner, and knew that this was an arrangement by Master Li, the founder of Falun Dafa. It came naturally, and I gained without pursuit. It was just as Master said,
“...as a practitioner should follow the course of nature. If something is yours, you will not lose it. If something is not yours, you will not have it even if you fight for it.” (Zhuan Falun)
Cultivating at Work
Our places of employment are also our cultivation environments, where both good and bad experiences can be used to improve our xinxing.
I recall that, more than ten years ago, we became aware of a major technical problem in our industry. I initiated a research project to resolve the problem. Other provincial departments also launched several projects to solve the issue.
After years of research, I proposed new ideas, tested them, and they were accepted and implemented. After we completed the project, our team was awarded second prize in the provincial Science and Technology Progress Awards. However, when we applied for the reward, my name was at the bottom of the list.
At that time, I felt this was unfair and became jealous. After studying the Fa more, I let go of my attachments to unfairness and jealousy. Master taught us,
“Sometimes, you think that something should be yours, and others also tell you that it is yours. Actually, it is not. You may believe that it is yours, but in the end it is not yours. Through this, it can be seen whether you can give it up. If you cannot let it go, it is an attachment. This method must be used to get rid of your attachment to self-interest. This is the issue.” (Zhuan Falun)
By the time our team received the award, I had let go my attachments to fame and jealousy. Even though I subsequently did not apply for any awards, I was given seven bonuses and personal achievement awards, at or above the provincial level.
