(Minghui.org) Mr. Zhou Guangming was arrested on Christmas Eve in 2015 when he distributed calendars containing information about Falun Dafa in Linyi City, Shandong Province.
He has been detained in the Hedong District Detention Center for several months. Linyi officials there are trying to come up with charges to take him to court.
The police called his daughter the evening of his arrest and asked her to come and pick him up. When she arrived, they had already taken Mr. Zhou to the Linyi Domestic Security Division.
A month later, the police told his daughter she could visit him, stipulating that she sign the official arrest warrant.
Mr. Zhou was forced to recite prison rules, deprived of sleep, and forced to do hard labor in the detention center.
Prior Arrests and Detention
Mr. Zhou, 55, is a farmer from Luoquanya Village, Mengyin County, Linyi City. He began practicing Falun Dafa in 1997.
A plainclothes officer came to his house pretending to be a chestnut vendor in 2002. The officer tried to arrest him, but Mr. Zhou managed to escape. The officer pushed his 70-year-old mother to the ground during the incident, and when his brother argued with the officer, he was taken into custody. His brother was then held in the detention center for a month and fined 3,000 yuan.
Mr. Zhou was arrested for distributing Falun Dafa informational materials with other practitioners on July 23, 2007. He was detained at the Fei County Detention Center and sentenced to two years of forced labor without a trial before being taken to the Wangcun Forced Labor Camp. Later, he was transferred to the Guanzhuang Town Forced Labor Camp in Zhangqiu City, where he was forced to attend brainwashing sessions and do hard labor. He was not released until 2009.
