(Minghui.org) A young woman in Harbin City was sentenced to 8 months for seeking the release of her father who was arrested for practicing Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline being persecuted by the Chinese Communist regime.
Ms. Liu Wenru, also a Falun Gong practitioner herself, was arrested on November 9, 2015 and given the prison sentence earlier this year. She was scheduled for release on July 8 of this year, but she didn’t regain her freedom easily.
A group of officers from Xinfa Police Station grabbed Ms. Xu when she stepped out of the prison facility. She held tight to her mother, who was waiting to take her home, and cried, “The police want to arrest me again! I want to go home!”
Her mother was infuriated and scolded the police loudly. As passersby stopped to see what was happening, the police relented and let go of their grip on Ms. Xu, but not before forcing her mother to sign a statement promising to keep an eye on her daughter.
Four days later, Ms. Xu’s father was put on trial. The details of the hearing remain to be investigated.
