(Minghui.org) I recently heard of several instances where some Falun Dafa practitioners in China were so eager to go abroad, they didn't care about doing anything in China and kept asking other practitioners to go with them. This has created quite some interference among fellow practitioners.
The article Stay Focused and Remain Undisturbed on the Minghui website also talked about this kind of interference, as the practitioners in question had gaps in their cultivation, placing personal interests before the needs of Fa-rectification.
I was approached about going abroad, too. But I had a simple thought: If I left China, I would lose the opportunity to distribute materials about Falun Gong to my fellow Chinese. For the first time, I realized what a precious opportunity this is!
I came down to Earth to help Master save people here. I don't want to leave these people, who are still waiting for my help. Helping them is my mission. If I can't complete my mission, my cultivation is meaningless, and going to the U.S. or another country would be meaningless, too.
I have seen some practitioners in our region who are desperate about going abroad. They keep asking others to go with them, even though those practitioners told them that they would stay in China. To me, there are three common excuses for going abroad:
1. “It Is Easier to Get a Better Job Overseas”
After China widely expanded its college education system, many college graduates cannot find a job. It is thus even worse for practitioners who do not have a college degree or business acumen, and who are under persecution, to get a good job. Therefore there was this idea that one might be able to get a decent job overseas.
However, I would argue that if you can't make a good living in your own country, it is likely to be even more difficult to do that in a foreign country. If you have the good fortune to be wealthy, it can happen to you in your own place. It does not necessarily have to wait until you go to the U.S.
2. “I Should Join the Fa-Validation Projects Overseas”
This appears to be a common excuse as well. Is there any overseas Fa-validation project that cannot run because a certain practitioner in China does not participate in it?
Of course, if a practitioner has certain capabilities, he can be a candidate for a project. But that does not mean that Master must pick him.
Also, if a practitioner has a desire to go abroad and keeps justifying it as doing Dafa projects overseas, I feel that is not respectful to Dafa or to Master. We should never use Dafa as an excuse.
Actually, mainland China is the main stage for saving sentient beings. The overseas projects are to support practitioners in China.
Master said,
“The majority of people here today are Dafa disciples from outside of China. But the Dafa disciples of mainland China are in fact the main body. That’s because the Kings of each ethnic group from each period of history have reincarnated in China, as have beings from high and even higher planes.” (“Fa Teaching at the 2013 Greater New York Fa Conference”)
3. “Go as a Companion”
Some practitioners went abroad and suffered language and culture challenges, and felt homesick. They asked practitioners in China that they knew to come over to be their companions.
Some practitioners in China, when planning to go abroad, worried about whether they could truly be independent. They asked other people to go with them.
Actually these justifications are interference on the cultivation path that Master has arranged for each practitioner. As Master said,
“It has to do with the different vows you made at the beginning.” (“Fa Teaching at the 2007 New York Fa Conference,” Teaching the Fa at the Conference VIII)
“Things have been arranged for such a long time and this is such a major event, so things are really well-ordered! If I told you that even every step you take as you walk, and that even how big your stride is, were arranged, you might not believe it.” (“Fa Teaching Given at the 2014 San Francisco Fa Conference”)
Master has arranged each practitioner's path. We should not, out of our own personal interest, do something that impacts our own cultivation, interferes with fellow practitioners, or even interferes with Master's plan.
