(Minghui.org) Ms. Tian Suqin, a 69-year-old Falun Gong practitioner from Jinan, Shandong Province, was arrested on May 13, 2016, for filing a lawsuit against former Chinese leader Jiang Zemin in 2015. Her home was ransacked and personal belongings confiscated.
In 1999, Jiang launched the brutal persecution of Falun Gong, which has led to the deaths of many practitioners over the past 17 years. Many more have been tortured for their belief and even killed for their organs. Their families have also been victimized.
Most Recent Arrest
Several officers from the local police station broke into Ms. Tian's home at noon on May 13. They asked her where she had been and why she filed a lawsuit against Jiang. They refused to let her call her sons.
Her home was ransacked even though they did not present a search warrant. Her Dafa books, computers, and a photo of Master Li Hongzhi were taken away. When Ms. Tian tried to stop them, they dragged her out of her house with her arms twisted behind her back.
At the police station, the officers took Ms. Tian’s fingerprints by force. They then tied her to an iron chair for 11 hours with no food or water. They took her to Zhonggong Detention Center at around midnight.
Sons Beaten
The police called her two sons three hours after her arrest. Worried and upset, they rushed to see their mother. But they were accused of storming the police station and severely beaten.
They were detained for almost nine hours, until their mother was taken to the detention center. They were severely beaten during that time. One of them was forced to sign for the detention.
Two months later, the injuries to their arms and legs still bothered them.
Sons Turned Against Her
Ms. Tian was detained for seven days. After this, she and her sons had a falling out. They did not understand the facts about Falun Gong, and blamed her for their difficulties. Unable to make her give up cultivation, they often verbally abused her. Out of fear, they even threatened to end their relationship.
Ms. Tian was not only illegally persecuted. She also had to deal with her sons’ complaints. In addition, she had to explain to her five young grandchildren, one by one, why she was arrested, an excruciating and stressful ordeal.
Ms. Tian had to explain her arrest to the many people in her district who had witnessed the officers take her away, so that they wouldn’t have a bad impression of Falun Gong.
Health Deteriorates
Ms. Tian used to have a herniated lumbar disc, rheumatoid arthritis, diabetes, and heart disease. Her ailments disappeared after she started to cultivate, and Falun Gong became an important part of her life.
When she was released, she became stressed after she tried and failed several times to get the police to return her confiscated Dafa books. Her health started to deteriorate.
Ms. Tian started to lose her appetite. In the second half of June, she developed dizziness, insomnia, and fever and had lost weight. A few days later, she started to lose her hearing and vision. She was also easily fatigued. Early one morning, she passed out and fell down.
She was taken to the hospital. Worried and afraid, her sons asked relatives to take care of her.
