(Minghui.org) A veteran from Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province was arrested again for refusing to renounce Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline being persecuted by the Chinese communist regime.
This is not the first time Mr. Chen Yinru has been targeted for his faith. He was twice sentenced and served a total of 6.5 years in Wuxi Prison between 2004 and 2012.
Mr. Chen’s latest arrest took place on August 18 of this year. It was 9 in the morning, and he was only about 100 meters away from his home when five agents came out of nowhere and arrested him. They confiscated the Falun Gong informational materials that he had with him.
Hours later, three agents descended upon Mr. Chen’s home. They searched the house and confiscated more items, including Falun Gong books, DVDs, pamphlets, a printer, a laptop, and a CD burner. The whole process was videotaped.
One agent told Mrs. Chen that they had been tracking her husband for a long time.
Mr. Chen was interrogated at Loufeng Police Station around 2 in the afternoon. Officer Cao Yu tried to get him to reveal where he obtained the Falun Gong materials, but he firmly refused to answer. Cao explained that the police targeted him because he was reported for putting Falun Gong materials in people’s mailboxes.
In the meantime, Mrs. Chen received a second unexpected visit from police, with two new officers coming to question her about her husband’s activities.
Mr. Chen was transferred to Huangli Detention Center that night. His lawyer visited him the next day, and is determined to defend his constitutional right to freedom of belief.
