(Minghui.org) A Guiyang City resident has been kept in the dark since her husband and son were arrested 16 months ago. She was shocked to find out in December 2016 that the two men had been each sentenced to 7 years and are now serving time at Dujun Prison.
The authorities targeted Ms. Su’s family because her husband, Mr. Yan Houquan, filed a criminal complaint against former Chinese dictator Jiang Zemin for ordering the persecution of Falun Gong that resulted in her and his past detentions.
Mr. Yan, Ms. Su, and their son, who does not practice Falun Gong, were entertaining a guest at home on July 14, 2015, when police knocked on their door. The couple refused to open the door, only to see the police break in, arrest them, and turn their home upside down.
Ms. Su was released on bail in October 2015, and since then she hasn’t had any updates on her husband and son from the authorities.
She has also been forbidden from seeing her husband and son at the detention center. She tried to visit them again in mid-December 2016 and learned that they had been moved to Dujun Prison on November 22. The guards declined to reveal any other details. It was only after much effort that she found out that the two men had both been sentenced to prison.
Ms. Su has no idea of when her husband and son were tried or sentenced. She still hasn’t been able to visit them in prison.
