(Minghui.org) A Liuhe City resident out on bail was taken back into police custody after being spotted talking to people about the Chinese communist regime’s persecution of Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline based on the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.
Ms. Zhang Guixiang, 64, was first arrested on July 15, 2016 for refusing to renounce Falun Gong. She was sentenced to 2.5 years in prison and fined 2,000 yuan on June 20, 2017. As she failed the required medical examination, the local court granted her bail.
Tonghua City Intermediate Court ruled on September 27 to uphold Ms. Zhang’s conviction.
The local police kept monitoring her while she was on bail. They caught her talking to someone about Falun Gong on November 7 and immediately took her back into custody.
They drove her straight to the local Tonghua City Detention Center. Even though she failed the medical examination, they still pressured the detention center to admit her. Not long afterwards, she went into a coma and was rushed to Tonghua City Third Hospital.
According to insiders, Ms. Zhang was moved to Changchun Prison after being discharged from the hospital. At the time of writing, her family still hasn’t received any official notice regarding her imprisonment.
