(Minghui.org) Chinese New Year festivities were held on Australia’s Gold Coast on February 4, and a group of local Falun Dafa practitioners were happy to take part. The festivities, which take place in the local Chinatown area, draw about 15,000 people.
Many stopped at the Falun Dafa booth to take in the exercise demonstrations and photo displays. Children and adults alike were delighted by the hand-made origami lotus flowers given out at the booth. Symbolizing purity, the flowers are a tribute to the Falun Dafa practitioners in China who are enduring brutal persecution for their faith.
A young couple had been interested in learning qigong and were interested to learn that Falun Dafa involved not only exercise movements, but also improving one's moral character. They said they looked forward to visiting the local Falun Dafa practice site.
A group of five Vietnamese people stopped at the booth and asked where they could learn the exercises. They were pleased to hear the exercises were taught voluntarily and free of charge. They also signed the petition to help stop the forced organ harvesting atrocities committed against imprisoned Falun Dafa practitioners in China.
After the fireworks, many people took Falun Dafa fliers and considered making a New Year resolution to start living more according to the universal principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance – the core tenets of Falun Dafa.
