(Minghui.org) Ms. Gu Zucui, from Pengzhou City, was released from Chengdu Women's Prison on January 6, 2017, after being arrested on January 6, 2014, for talking to people about Falun Gong at a farmer's market.
Ms. Gu was taken to the prison on July 1, 2015. Guards assigned two inmates to try to get her to renounce her belief in Falun Gong. The inmates tried various means, including grasping Ms. Gu's hand to force her to sign and place her fingerprints on a guarantee statement.
The inmates threatened her and said that if she refused to renounce her belief she would be deprived of sleep and not allowed to bathe.
She was made to write regular “thought reports,” swear at Falun Gong and its founder, and read books that slandered Falun Gong. She was also forced to take pills even though she wasn't ill.
Ms. Gu was also forced to do hard labor. She had to begin work at 7:30 a.m. every day, and had to work until 7:00 p.m. She was threatened with punishment if the assigned tasks were not finished.
