(Minghui.org) A Heishan County resident was tried on March 17, 2017 for refusing to renounce Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline being persecuted by the Chinese communist regime.
Mr. Xue Guorui’s two lawyers pointed out that there was no required official seal on the document that the police submitted to the procuratorate, which recommended an indictment against their client.
The lawyers also questioned the absence of the prosecutor’s eyewitness mentioned in the indictment. The prosecutor responded that the eyewitness was a special tipster who didn’t need to testify in court. The lawyers refuted this statement and demanded their client's acquittal.
The judge adjourned the session and promised to issue an verdict 20 days later.
