(Minghui.org) Ms. Wei Jingmin was arrested on May 24, 2017 after being reported for talking to people about Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline being persecuted by the Chinese communist regime.
The Botou City resident was interrogated by Wang Wensheng, head of Botou City Domestic Security Office, and Gao Wei, head of Botou City 610 Office, an extra-legal agency tasked with eradicating Falun Gong and given power to override the judicial system.
Wang indicated that Ms. Wei had been on their radar for years, and she responded, “I’ve been trying to get a hold of you as well. I once visited your home but you were not in. I wanted to let you know that the persecution of Falun Gong has been illegal from the onset and that I hope you will stop persecuting Falun Gong practitioners. And by the way, your officers haven’t returned my family’s car that was confiscated a while back.”
Wang didn’t say anything, and Ms. Wei continued, “You’re detaining me without any legal basis.”
Gao brought out a few pages of paper for Ms. Wei to sign, but she refused and said, “I suggest you don't sign paper either; otherwise it may become evidence of your persecuting Falun Gong when it comes time to seek justice against perpetrators.”
Wang and Gao realized that they couldn’t make Ms. Wei renounce Falun Gong, so they released her hours later.
