(Minghui.org) A woman in Baishan City, Jilin Province, is experiencing persistent high blood pressure and numbness in her limbs while being held in detention for her faith in Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Ms. Zhang Chunxiang was arrested for talking to people about Falun Gong on January 17, 2019. She has been held at Baishan City Detention Center since.
Ms. Zhang told her lawyer and daughter about her medical condition when they visited her on July 2, 2019. She said her blood pressure had remained around 200 mmHg since her admission to the detention center.
Ms. Zhang's lawyer and daughter later went to Jingyu County Court, but judges Suo Senyu and Li Zhihui, both in charge of her case, refused to meet with them.
After the lawyer returned to his city, he was told by his local bar association that the Jingyu County Court had filed a complaint against him. He was told not to represent Falun Gong cases anymore.
The lawyer told the local bar association that Ms. Zhang's condition was serious and that she might be in danger if authorities continued to hold her in detention.
The judges at Jingyu County Court now refuse to answer calls from Ms. Zhang's daughter, who is applying for bail for her.
