(Minghui.org) Many fellow practitioners have been harassed during the recent zero-out campaign – a concerted effort to force every practitioner on the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) blacklist to renounce Falun Dafa. This has triggered fear in some practitioners. I would like to share my understanding on this matter.
There’s an old saying, “A clean conscience is a soft pillow.” Why are some practitioners afraid? Behind their fear may be a lack of righteous thoughts about what they are doing. Their subconsciousness may be telling them that their clarifying the truth is “illegal” and could result in punishment. Perhaps they forget that our truth clarification and hanging banners does not violate any laws. What we do is lawful according to China’s Constitution, which grants people freedom of belief and speech. Those who harass us are the ones violating the law.
Some practitioners have suffered terrible persecution. The excruciating memories may be hard to forget and make them feel weak and powerless when facing this state-sanctioned persecution. But this is all superficial. If we truly think about it, it’s actually due to lack of faith in Master and Dafa. The level of your faith determines how strong or weak you are. The stronger your faith is, the stronger you will be.
Some practitioners think that those who were harassed must have fear or omissions in their cultivation, because the old forces are taking advantage of fear or gaps to “test” practitioners. There is some truth to the saying, “It’s more likely to occur if you’re afraid something will happen.” We are people who assimilate to the Fa, which has created everything in the universe. The part of us that has cultivated well must be enormously powerful. Would a divine being fear evil?
Cultivation can be complicated. We are still cultivating, so we have all kinds of attachments before reaching consummation. One of them is fear. As long as we continue to assimilate to the Fa’s principles and acquire more divine capabilities, what can bad people do to us?
We should still pay attention to safety – we don't want to give those who would harm us opportunities to commit crimes.
