(Minghui.org) July 20, 2020, marks 21 years that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has persecuted Falun Dafa, a peaceful spiritual practice. Practitioners across the world conduct activities around July 20 to let the world know about this persecution and to call for it to end.
I composed “Candlelight” with the ancient musical instrument, the Xun. I dedicate it to the practitioners who lost their lives as a result of the persecution.
Xun: a 7000-year-old musical instrument. The Xun is shaped by combining water and fire. China's “Historical Records” called Xun music the “Voice of Virtue.” Xun’s deep and far-reaching voice comes to us from ancient times, which reminds Falun Dafa practitioners of their prehistoric vows to save sentient beings.
Candlelight
Lyrics by Jing ZhiMusic by Xin YunProduced by Falun Dafa practitioners in Sydney
Flickers of candlelight,A stirring sad melody,Singing practitioners' heroic tragedy.
Flickers of candlelight,A grand epic,Recording the mercy and strength of practitioners.
Light a candle,to pass on sincerity and kindness,Light a candle,to bring light to the universe.
Flickers of candlelight,A bridge,Connecting the just and kind in the world.
Flickers of candlelight,Carrying the hopes of all,Spreading the wonderfulness of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance to the world.
