(Minghui.org) An artist and clothing designer in Beijing was arrested on July 19, 2020 for her faith in Falun Gong, a mind-body discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
The police ransacked Ms. Meng Qingxia’s home and confiscated her computer. Two other practitioners, Ms. Xu Na, also an artist, and another practitioner whose name is unknown, were arrested along with her.
Ms. Meng, 48, has been targeted several times for her faith during the past 21 years.
She was arrested on December 30, 2004, taken to a brainwashing center, then sentenced by the Changping District Court to five years in Beijing Women’s Prison.
The police kept harassing Ms. Meng after she was released. On July 20, 2015, she was arrested again by a dozen officers. She was held at the Changping District Detention Center for a month before being transferred to a brainwashing center on August 20. She was harassed again on November 28, 2015, not long after she was released.
Ms. Meng was harassed one more time on September 19, 2017 by two plainclothes officers. They took pictures of all of her paintings at home.
