(Minghui.org) A Changzhou City, Jiangsu Province resident is facing trial for her faith in Falun Gong, a mind-body discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Ms. Bu Rumei was arrested on April 16, 2020 and released on bail the next day. The police took her key without her permission and ransacked her home. Her terminally ill father-in-law, who was living with her and her husband, was home alone when the police came. He was so terrified by the police that his condition took a turn for the worse and he passed away a month later.
Ms. Bu was taken back to the police station and the procuratorate a few more times, on May 14, June 1, and July 13 for interrogation. The Wujin Procuratorate indicted her on July 23 and forwarded her case to the Wujin District Court.
Two prosecutors, Yang Wenqi and Jiang Yizhou, questioned Ms. Bu’s husband and two daughters on July 23. Ms. Bu’s 12-year-old younger daughter said to the prosecutors, “My mom didn’t do anything wrong, nor has she harmed anyone. I wouldn’t take it if you sentence my mom.”
The Wujin District Court informed Ms. Bu on August 2 that she could pick up the indictment at the court. Ms. Bu tried to make an appointment with Judge Zhu Yinmei, who was in charge of her case. Zhu shouted at her over the phone, “You think you can meet with the judge when you want to? I don’t have time!”
