(Minghui.org) Since the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) launched a nationwide campaign against Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline also known as Falun Dafa, in July 1999, many CCP officials have been actively carrying out the persecution policy, resulting in many Falun Gong practitioners being arrested, imprisoned, tortured, or even killed for their organs.

Despite the harsh environment, practitioners have been working hard to expose the persecution and urge government officials and other perpetrators to stop committing crimes against practitioners. While some heeded practitioners' advice, others charged ahead with the persecution.

Unfortunately, some of the officials who continued to persecute Falun Gong died prematurely. This article lists a few such cases. While the deaths may appear accidental, many Falun Gong practitioners believe that the officials' involvement in the persecution was a major contributing factor of their untimely deaths.

In both Western and Chinese culture, the principle of karmic retribution—that is, being held ultimately accountable for one's own actions—is widely accepted. Stated another way, good deeds will be rewarded, while evil will incur its due. Articles such as this are meant as a compassionate reminder of this principle to those who would commit wrongdoing.

Falun Gong practitioners cherish life and sincerely hope the perpetrators involved in the persecution will learn a lesson from these cases so as to have a better future.

Hunan Province

Meng Han, Party Secretary of Xupu County in Hunan Province, suddenly had a medical condition on July 9, 2020, and died hours later despite resuscitation efforts.

Meng, 55, was appointed to his position in January 2017 by Zhou Benshun, former Party Secretary of the Central Political and Legal Affairs Committee (PLAC), and Yang Dongying, former deputy mayor of Huaihua City, which oversees Xupu County.

When two practitioners, Ms. Yang Lanying and Ms. Mao Yanping, went to the county government to distribute Falun Gong informational materials, someone reported them to Meng, who instructed police to arrest both practitioners.

At about 6 a.m. on May 8, 2020, more than 10 agents descended on Ms. Yang’s home. They were from the Xihu Police Station, Domestic Security Bureau, and neighborhood committee. They arrested her and confiscated her Falun Gong materials, DVDs, and USB drives.

At the same time, 6 officers went to Ms. Mao’s place, searched her residence, and took her away.

Chongqing

Wang Zezhi was a former Party Secretary in Pudu Village in the Yongchuan District of Chongqing. After the CCP began to suppress Falun Gong in 1999, Wang was responsible for numerous persecution cases.

In March 2005, a number of practitioners in Chongqing were arrested and harassed. For example, Dai Yonghong and other officers went to Ms. Deng Huarong’s home at 2 a.m. on March 8 and attempted to arrest her. Although they relented upon Ms. Deng's protest, they arrested her at a farmers’ market on March 10.

Similarly, Ms. Wang Jueming, 58, was arrested on June 26, 2006, while she was telling others about Falun Gong. Ms. Qin Yulan, 38, was arrested three days later.

Wang Zezhi ordered the above arrests. Furthermore, he instructed agents to follow and monitor practitioners although they did not violate any laws. He suddenly died on February 11, 2020.

Shandong Province

Zhang Xicheng was a former CCP Party Secretary of Yanhou Village in Zhaoyuan City, Shandong Province. He died of an unknown, sudden disease at 67 on January 11, 2020. Local residents suspected his death could be related to his abuse of power in suppressing practitioners.

While working as a Party Secretary, Zhang was repeatedly reported by villagers to higher officials for corruption and other crimes. To avoid investigation, Zhang framed practitioners in the village numerous times to please higher officials.

Practitioners tried to persuade Zhang to stop participating in the persecution. They also reiterated that Falun Gong teaches people to be better citizens, which is good for both themselves and society as a whole. But Zhang refused to listen, and because of him, a number of practitioners were detained in Zhaoyuan Detention Center, township police station, and numerous brainwashing centers.

Sichuan Province

Jiang Taiping was a Party Secretary at Xiaoquan Elementary School in Jingyang City, Sichuan Province. He launched several campaigns in the school against Falun Gong, including a survey in March 2010 to see who was a practitioner and an oath-taking rally the following month. Both teachers and students, about 1,100 in total, attended the rally and signed petitions to slander Falun Gong.

Jiang also wrote many articles to defame Falun Gong. Because of that, he was highly praised by Liu Gang, Party Secretary of the Jingyang City Political and Legal Affairs Committee. He also received many rewards for his writings published by both city and provincial-level magazines.

It is worth noting that Jiang had not read Falun Gong books or talked with practitioners about what Falun Gong is. He simply followed the CCP’s political lines and made up slanderous materials, turning a large number of people against innocent practitioners and Falun Gong's principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.

Jiang died in the winter of 2018 after getting drunk.
