(Minghui.org) A practitioner and I took the train to Beijing to appeal for Falun Dafa on December 10, 2000. We then took a bus to Tiananmen Square, but I couldn't find the male practitioner after getting off the bus, so I walked to Tiananmen Square on my own, and arrived there at around midday.
Tiananmen Square
It was very quiet when I arrived there. I looked around and couldn't see any other practitioners. I unfurled the banner I brought and shouted, “Falun Dafa is good! Master Li Hongzhi is innocent!”
A police officer rushed at me, and pushed me to the ground. He grabbed the banner and pulled me up. He gripped my neck with one arm, and dragged me to the police car. I shouted, “Falun Dafa is good!” He was swearing while dragging me.
Many Dafa practitioners had gathered in the square by that time, and several police vehicles were parked there. Many practitioners were put into the minibus. The officers dragged, pushed, scolded, beat, and kicked practitioners while the practitioners shouted, “Falun Dafa is good! Master Li is innocent! Falun Dafa is innocent!”
We were taken to the Tiananmen Square police station, where we were locked into iron cages separately. We were transferred to a detention center at dusk by bus. I refused to give them my name so they forced me in to the back of a jeep and drove me away.
The Compound
After a long drive, we arrived at a newly built compound. The construction wasn't fully completed yet. There was a kennel in the yard, where I could see two Tibetan mastiff dogs, with long chains tied around their necks.
I was taken to a large room, and made to sit on a stool in the middle. Two police officers were there to monitor me. They constantly walked around the room, and washed their hands and faces when they were sleepy.
I was not allowed to eat or drink, close my eyes, or use the bathroom. The next morning (December 12) several police officers came into the room. They surrounded me, and started swearing at me.
I was dragged into the yard, where I saw 11 officers. They signaled the two large dogs to attack me. I was scared and hid behind one of the officers.
“Tell us your name and address, or you'll be eaten by the dogs,” one of the officers said.
Four or five officers started beating me, and told me to tell them my name and address. I just shouted, “Falun Dafa is good! The police are beating a good person!”
They divided into groups and took turns beating me. They punched, kicked, and slapped my face. I was tortured like this every day from when they started work in the morning until past 10:00 p.m.
One time, two officers beat me, and knocked me to the ground. They dragged me and slammed my head into a jeep that was parked in the yard. They said, “No one will know if we beat you to death and bury you here today, or we let the dogs rip you up.”
“God knows!” I replied. They looked up at the sky and didn't say anything.
I was tied to an iron post every night after 11:00 p.m., in the freezing cold.
They told the dogs to bite me, but before they approached, righteous thoughts came to my mind. I said to the dogs in my heart, “I am practicing Falun Dafa. Do not bite me.” The dogs went into their kennel, and never approached me.
My Escape
On the evening of December 16, I was tied to a post after being beaten for another day. Two officers were left to monitor me. I made up my mind that I was going to leave that night, and asked Master for help. “Master, I’m a Dafa disciple. I can’t stay here.”
Because it was cold outside, the two men stayed in the room and only occasionally came out to check on me. When I was thinking about how to leave, I suddenly felt the handcuff loosen. I was so happy because I knew Master was helping me.
I took one hand out of the cuffs, and then the other. At that time, one of the guards brought a bowl of water for me. He then went back inside. I saw them facing away from me, so I quickly ran to the gate. The dogs didn't make a sound. I climbed over the wall, which was a few meters high, then looked back through the gate and didn't see anyone coming out. The sign on the gate read, “Banbidian Township, Daxing County, Beijing.”
I ran into the nearby field, walked for miles, through a graveyard and a wasteland. I was exhausted and hadn't eaten or slept for five days.
I had gone very far, and thought it was safe to sit and rest for a while. I later came to a highway. I hid behind a tree and watched the passing vehicles for a while. When I thought it was safe I began to walk along the roadside until I eventually came to a small town.
A woman there was doing her morning exercise. I asked her the time and how to get to the train station. She told me it was 7:00 a.m., and she drove me there.
There happened to be a train going to Beijing South Train Station, so I climbed on board with the help of an elderly man on the platform. Once I sat down I relaxed. I was tired, hungry, and thirsty. After arriving in Beijing, I immediately bought a train ticket and went home.
I am so grateful to Master every time I think about my escape.
After experiencing five days and nights of torture there were no scars on my body and I didn't feel any pain when I got home. I didn't have frostbite on my hands, feet, or face after being exposed to the bitter cold every night.
From my experience, I came to realize that the impossible can be possible, as long as we firmly believe in Master and Dafa.
