(Minghui.org) A Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province resident is facing prosecution for her faith in Falun Gong.
Falun Gong, also known as Falun Dafa, is an ancient spiritual and meditation discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Ms. Ye Xiaobing, a 38-year-old operations management professional, took up Falun Gong in 2012 and credits the practice for improving her health.
Ms. Ye was working at home on April 24, 2020 when a group of police officers ordered the local property management to open her apartment door. The police searched her rooms and arrested her with the excuse that she had Falun Gong books and materials. Her computer, printer and Falun Gong materials were confiscated.
Ms. Ye was sent to the Guangzhou City No. 2 Detention Center the next day and was quarantined for about 20 days, before being transferred to the Tianhe District Detention Center.
The Tianhe District Procuratorate approved her arrest on May 25. On August 11, the police submitted her case to the Haizhu District Procuratorate, which is the designated procuratorate to handle all Falun Gong cases in Guangzhou City.
