(Minghui.org) A Shaoguan City, Guangdong Province resident was recently sentenced to 4.5 years for her faith in Falun Gong, a spiritual and meditation discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese Communist Party since 1999.
Ms. Chen Xueqing, a 59-year-old retired employee of Shaoguan Iron and Steel Group Corporation, was arrested on May 17, 2019 after being reported for removing a propaganda poster outside the residential committee office the day before.
It’s recently confirmed by Minghui.org that she has been sentenced by the Qujiang District Court to 4.5 years with a 10,000 yuan fine. She appealed to the Shaoguan City Intermediate Court, which ruled to uphold the original verdict. She has been taken to the Guangdong Province Women’s Prison.
Since the onset of the persecution, Ms. Chen has been arrested multiple times for upholding her faith. She was forced to pay a fine on March 18, 2005 for possessing Falun Gong materials and detained for 15 days after being arrested on November 2, 2008 for talking to people about Falun Gong.
She was arrested again on August 29, 2014 with another practitioner Ms. Fu Chiying for raising awareness about Falun Gong. After a few months of detention at the Shaoguan City Detention Center, Ms. Chen was sentenced to three years and Ms. Fu to one year and one month by the Qujiang District Court.
