(Minghui.org) Falun Dafa practitioners held activities in Strasbourg, France, to raise awareness of the ongoing persecution in China from December 9 through December 11, 2022. They showed people the beauty of Falun Dafa and collected signatures on a petition condemning the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) persecution.

Strasbourg is the capital of Grand Est, which is located in the Northeastern region of France. Many major European institutions, such as the Council of Europe, the European Parliament, the European Court of Human Rights, and the European Corps are located in Strasbourg.

Practitioners set up informational booths and held activities at the Place d’Austerlitz and Place de la République on December 9 and 10, 2022. The Christmas market at Place d’Austerlitz was also being held and thousands of tourists passed by every day. The practitioners’ booth was located in a conspicuous spot that was convenient for people who wanted to learn more about the practice.

Michel Lachaise, an expert and researcher of Native Americans, said, “This persecution should not have happened. This is not normal in today’s society and should not be happening. Humans should form one entity and not create any biases. Brutal persecution or slavery should not happen,” he said.

He continued, “The principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance are good. We should protect and personally abide by these principles.”

Rémy and Noémie work at a retirement home in Montreux, Switzerland. Rémy was appalled by the persecution in China. “Forced live organ harvesting is inhumane and is a violation of basic human rights. It should have never existed. We are entering the year 2023 and we cannot allow this atrocity to happen,” he said.

“The principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance are key characteristics in our jobs. We need to abide by and follow these principles,” Rémy said.

Practitioners held a parade to raise awareness, demonstrated Falun Dafa’s exercises and held a candlelight vigil at Parc de l'Orangerie on December 10-11, 2022, to commemorate practitioners who have been persecuted to death. Many people who were strolling and exercising in the park were happy to encounter Falun Dafa practitioners.

Vincent, once a mechanical engineer, said, “I am shocked to learn something barbaric like this is happening on a nationwide level. China has a population of over a billion and I do not understand how people are silently allowing this to happen.

“This is my first time learning about forced live organ harvesting. Forced live organ harvesting is horrible. Something like this happened 2,000 years ago and I cannot imagine something like this would happen now,” he said. He encouraged practitioners to persist and said that the reasons the CCP is persecuting Falun Dafa are worth talking about.

Thérèse from Poland said that she had once lived under a communist regime and understands the Chinese people’s situation. “Communist regimes suppress and put pressure on their people,” she said. “It is very sad, and they have to hide their thoughts. They do not have freedom of thought. China is a great country. The problem is with the CCP’s dictatorship. The communist regime looks down on and despises the people. I wish you luck!”

A young person had received a truth-clarification flyer in the past. He said that he was happy to have encountered practitioners again. His house had burned down and the truth-clarification flyers he had were destroyed. He felt fortunate to have met practitioners and chatted with them for a long time.
