(Minghui.org) With the recent surge of COVID cases in Beijing, my son, his wife, and their nine-month-old daughter are all protected from the virus, even when many around them have been infected. I believe my son’s family has been blessed for their support of Falun Dafa, an ancient spiritual and meditation discipline.
While having a video chat with my son last night, it was adorable to see my granddaughter jumping on the bed. My son said that the nine people in his wife’s uncle’s family, who live next door, have all tested positive for COVID. While the children in that family are doing well now, the adults are still very sick.
My husband urged my son to keep his daughter home these days, as according to news reports, the virus was spreading so quickly in the city. My son said that the real situation is much worse than what’s reported. Because the COVID testing centers have all been shut down and the authorities have also stopped reporting asymptotic-positive cases, no one knows how many people have been infected. People all feel depressed and panicked. He heard that the hospitals were overwhelmed. It took weeks before the funeral homes could schedule a cremation of the deceased. Someone estimated that at least several million have been infected in Beijing, a city with a population of 22 million.
My daughter-in-law also told us that everyone at her workplace except her has tested positive. As a manager, she is the only one who can still go to the office to work now.
After hanging up the call with them, my heart was filled with emotions. Looking back at what my family has gone through in the past two decades, I’m grateful to have my son’s support of my faith in Falun Dafa, no matter how severe the persecution I have endured. I know both he and his wife are being protected by Dafa’s Master for their kind hearts.
Since the onset of the persecution of Dafa in 1999, I have been arrested many times. Even when my son was still in elementary school, the police harassed him and questioned him whether I had contacts with other practitioners. My son later told me that he didn’t tell the police anything.
Later, my son’s school organized a petition drive to smear Falun Dafa, and he found an excuse not to do it. When a teacher gave the homework for everyone to write an article to slander Falun Dafa, my son was the last one to turn in the paper, but he didn’t write anything bad about Falun Dafa.
My son said to me, “My grandpa’s stomach cancer and grandma’s high blood pressure and fatty liver were all cured by practicing Falun Dafa. There is no way for me to write things to slander it.”
When my son was little, his celestial eye was open. He saw many things mentioned in the book Zhuan Falun (the main text of Falun Dafa), such as the mysterious pass. He could also communicate with Dafa’s Master’s Fashen (law body) and he saw how Master Li (Dafa's founder) helped him eliminate karma and protected him when he was in danger. Although he hasn’t practiced Dafa himself, he knows that Dafa is extraordinary and magnificent.
After I was arrested and sentenced to prison, my son never complained about the lack of his mother’s love, but encouraged me, “I’ll wait for you to come home, mom!”
After my son graduated from college and started working, he was offered a job without having an interview. His supervisor treats him kindly and he also does a great job at work.
Seven years ago, my son met his future wife. Back then, I had just managed to pay off his college tuition and my husband was laid off. We couldn’t afford to buy a house for them if they got married (having a house for the newlywed has become a custom for most Chinese parents). When my son told his girlfriend about our family situation, she was very understanding and said, “What I like about you is your character, not money.” Her parents also said, “As long as our daughter likes him, we don’t have any objection. We don’t ask for a house, as long as you treat her well, we will be satisfied.”
After they got married, I clarified the facts about Dafa to my daughter-in-law. Both she and her parents agreed to quit the Chinese Communist Party. When I gave her father a DVD of the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party, he liked it very much and said he would watch it carefully.
I often urged my son and daughter-in-law to recite the auspicious phrases “Falun Dafa is good; Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance is good.” Since the outbreak of the pandemic in 2020, many people have recovered from the infection by reciting the phrases that carry positive energy from the universe.
Not long after, my husband also found a good job. Many people commented that this Falun Dafa family of mine has one good thing after another happen to them. I believe our good fortune all comes from Dafa’s blessing and protection.
