(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 9 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 20 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Beijing] Ms. Liu Xiuyun Sentenced to Four Years in Prison
Ms. Liu Xiuyun was arrested at home by officers from the Yuquanying Police Station on the morning of November 18, 2021, for distributing information about Falun Gong. The police ransacked her home and confiscated her Falun Gong books. She was placed under official arrest the next day. Ms. Liu was held in the Fengtai District Detention Center. She has symptoms of high blood pressure and heart problems.
It is recently learned that Ms. Liu has been sentenced to four years in prison.
2. [Daye City, Hubei Province] Mr. Cao Zhongrong Sentenced to Four Years and Three Months in Prison
Mr. Cao Zhongrong was arrested at home on the evening of March 13, 2022. He was incarcerated in the Daye City Detention Center for over 10 months. He was sentenced to four years and three months in prison at the end of 2022 and was transferred to prison after the Chinese New Year.
3. [Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province] Mr. Shen Guosheng Sentenced to Three Years and Eight Months in Prison
Mr. Shen Guosheng was sentenced to three years and eight months in prison and fined 5000 yuan by the Yingze District Court in early December 2022.
4. [Beijing] Mr. Li Wanqing Arrested
Mr. Li Wanqing from Sunhe Township in Chaoyang District was arrested by officers from the Houshayu Police Station in the Shunyi District on the morning of February 6, 2023. He is currently detained in the Shunyi District Detention Center.
5. [Zhenjiang City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Zhang Alian Arrested
Ms. Zhang Alian from Jurong was arrested in October 2022 and has been held in a detention center since then.
6. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Li Guilan Arrested
Ms. Li Guilan, 78, was arrested at home on February 8, 2023. She is currently held in the Weizigou Detention House.
Ms. Li Guilan, as well as three other practitioners including Ms. Hou Guixiang, Ms. Mu Chunping and Ms. Gao Zhenying, were arrested on August 31, 2022, for talking to people about Falun Gong. Their homes were ransacked. The police confiscated several Falun Gong books, 1200 yuan in paper bills imprinted with Falun Gong facts, a set of photos of Falun Gong’s founder, a small Falun badge, and a small media player from Ms. Li Guilan’s home. They also confiscated the Falun Gong books and other personal belongings from the other three practitioners’ homes. The practitioners were detained in the police station for 32 hours before they were released due to the pandemic.
7. [Yangzhou City, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Li Tingchun Persecuted
Mr. Li Tingchun was taken to the Yizheng Detention Center on July 26, 2022. He was transferred to the Jiangdu District Detention Center around September 10, 2022. There has been no news about him since.
8. [Zhaoyuan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhang Qi Arrested
Ms. Zhang Qi, 75, was reported to the police for distributing information about Falun Gong and was arrested by officers in the Development District at 1 p.m. on February 8, 2023. The police ransacked her home and confiscated a computer, a printer, 36 Falun Gong books, and other personal belongings. She was released around 10:30 p.m.
9. [Zhaoyuan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Wen Keying Arrested
Ms. Wen Keying from Linglong Town was arrested by officers from the Linglong Town Police Station on January 25, 2023. She was released later that day.
10. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Cui Yuzhu Arrested
Ms. Cui Yuzhu from Acheng District was reported to the police for talking to people about Falun Gong and was arrested by officers from the Huining Police Station on February 8, 2023. She was released in the late evening.
11. [Qitaihe City, Heilongjiang Province] Seven Practitioners Face Trial
Seven practitioners will be tried in the Qiezihe District Court on February 16, 2023. They are Ms. Zhang Shuli, Ms. Zhao Juan, Ms. Xiaoguan, Ms. Guo Chunling, Mr. Zhang Guangcai, Mr. Zhang Guangcai’s younger sister, and his mother.
