1. [Tonghua City, Jilin Province] Ms. Yan Shufang’s Case Brought to Court

1. [Tonghua City, Jilin Province] Ms. Yan Shufang’s Case Brought to Court
Ms. Yan Shufang has been held in the Tonghua City Detention Center for over four and a half months. Her case was sent to the Liuhe County Court. On February 2, 2023, a court clerk called and told Ms. Yan’s husband that they wanted the family to meet and persuade Ms. Yan to stop practicing Falun Gong. The clerk also asked the family whether they planned to hire a lawyer.
2. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Sha Shuyan Arrested
Ms. Sha Shuyan, 70, was reported to the police when she clarified the truth about Falun Gong to a security guard at the Hulan District Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital. She was arrested by officers from the Yuanye Police Station and later taken to the Domestic Security Division of Hulan District Police Department.
3. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Liu Zhongmin Arrested
Mr. Liu Zhongmin from Bin County was heading for Beijing to do odd jobs on December 30, 2022, and was arrested at the train station.
4. [Zoucheng City, Shandong Province] Ms. Jiang Li Released on Bail
Falun Gong amulets were found in Ms. Jiang Li’s suitcase when it was searched at the Qufu High-Speed Railway Station security checkpoint on January 29, 2023. She was arrested by officers from the East Station Police Station of Qufu High-Speed Railway and the Jinan City Public Security Division of Jinan Railway Police Department. She was searched.
The officers then searched Ms. Jiang’s backpack for keys to her home, tracked down her address, and ransacked her home. They confiscated a set of Falun Gong books, two USB flash drives, a box of A4 paper, and amulets. They turned her home into a mess.
Ms. Jiang was released on bail by the Jinan City Public Security Division and was fined 3,000 yuan. She went home that night after her family paid the fine.
5. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Zhang Guizhen Held in Brainwashing Center for 86 Days
Ms. Zhang Guizhen from Hongshan District was to finish her two-year-and-ten-month prison term on August 23, 2022, and her family members were ready to take her home. On the same day, Ms. Zhang was again arrested by the Justice Department of Donghu High-tech Development Zone, and taken to a brainwashing center in Qiaokou District, where she was held for another 86 days. She finally returned home on December 16, 2022.
