(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 10 cities or counties in 4 provinces, where at least 15 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

1. [Anlu City, Hubei Province] Ms. Huang Mingfang Faces Trial
Ms. Huang Mingfang was arrested at home on December 6, 2022 by 13 people including Huang Yajun, deputy of the Fucheng Police Station. They ransacked her home and confiscated 61 Falun Gong books, a desktop computer, a laptop, a printer, and several thousand yuan in cash. She was taken to the Fucheng Police Station for interrogation and was released that evening.
Ms. Huang was taken to the Anlu City Court on July 20, 2023 and will soon face trial. She left home to avoid the persecution.
2. [Beijing] The Case Against Ms. Li Shuwei Submitted to the Court
The case against Ms. Li Shuwei, who is in her 70s, from the Pinggu District, was submitted to the procuratorate at the end of May 2023. Four officers from the Yuyang Police Station took Ms. Li from her home and brought her to the local detention center on June 9, 2023. She was denied admission due to her health. The case against her was submitted to the court on August 9, 2023.
3. [Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Zhu Yanhua Detained in Prison
Ms. Zhu Yanhua was arrested at home by officers from the Hualin Police Station on the morning of August 14, 2020 for talking to people about Falun Gong. She was released on bail pending trial three days later.
She left her home after her case was submitted to the Aimin District Court on July 24, 2022.
Ms. Zhu was arrested by officers from the Yangming Police Station on the morning of April 22, 2023. She was tried in the Aimin District Court three days later. She was sentenced to four and a half years in prison and was fined 10,000 yuan. She was taken to the Mudanjiang City Detention Center on June 1, 2023 and was transferred to the Heilongjiang Province Women’s Prison around July 20, 2023.
4. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Three Practitioners Face Trial
Ms. Chen Shuling, Ms. Dong Haiyan, and Ms. Shi Yujie have been detained for nearly four months. Their cases were submitted to the Qiaoxi Procuratorate by the Wuyi Road Police Station on July 14, 2023 and then to the Qiaoxi Court. They will be tried in the Qiaoxi Court at 9:30 a.m. on September 5, 2023.
5. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Xiao Kun and Ms. Xiao Yang Arrested
Ms. Xiao Kun, Ms. Xiao Yang and one of their friends were arrested by several officers including Shi Wei, head of Acheng District Domestic Security Division, at 5 p.m. on August 23, 2023. Ms. Xiao Yang was released at 1 a.m. the next day. Ms. Xiao Kun is still detained.
6. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Liu Guihua Arrested and Detained
Ms. Liu Guihua from Jiang’an District, over 60, was arrested for talking to people about Falun Gong and was held in the Erzhigou Detention House in Dongxihu District. She will be released on September 1, 2023.
7. [Tianjin] Ms. Han Yuxia Sentenced to Four Years in Prison
Ms. Han Yuxia, 80, was sentenced to four years in prison. She appealed to the intermediate court. The original verdict was upheld by the No. 2 Intermediate Court on July 11, 2023. Ms. Han was immediately taken to the detention center, but was denied admission due to her health.
8. [Quyang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Xia Jingmin Persecuted
Ms. Xia Jingmin is a teacher in Jiahe Elementary School, Jiahe Town. She was arrested and detained for two weeks because she talked to the students’ parents about Falun Gong during a meeting. In August, one month of her property and township subsidy was deducted, as well as 25% of her salary.
9. [Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province] Jin Meizi and Zhang Shaohua Arrested and Detained
Jin Meizi and Zhang Shaohua from Aimin District were arrested on August 19, 2023 for talking to people about Falun Gong. They were placed under 15-day detention and held in the Mudanjiang City Detention Center.
10. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Ms. Shen Yanru Released
Ms. Shen Yanru from Shijiatun Village, Changli County has been released. She went to the Anshan Police Station and submitted an appeal letter to dismiss her case.
11. [Lianjiang City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Su Chengfang Arrested and Detained
Ms. Su Chengfang was arrested by multiple officers on the morning of May 11, 2023. She is being held in the Suixi County Detention Center in Zhanjiang City. She was placed under official arrest on June 12, 2023. Her lawyer and her family are not allowed to visit her.
