(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 8 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 20 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

9. [Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners Face Trial
1. [Yanbian City, Jilin Province] Ms. Nan Yingfu Facing Trial
Ms. Nan Yingfu, 67, was arrested by officers from the Henan Police Station when she was distributing informational materials about Falun Gong at noon on August 14, 2024. She is scheduled to stand trial in the Yanji City Court on October 26, 2024.
2. [Zhucheng City, Shandong Province] Three Practitioners Sentenced Up to Three Years in Prison
Ms. Chen Xuefeng, Ms. Zhao Jin’e, and Gong Shanlun were tried by the Zhucheng City Court on September 17, 2024. Ms. Chen was sentenced to three years in prison. Ms. Zhao was given one year with two years probation. And Gong received one year.
3. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Gao Bizhen Arrested
Ms. Gao Bizhen, over 70, was arrested by officers from the Luojiashan Police Station in early October 2024. Her daughter, who became mentally ill due to the persecution, was left at home unattended.
4. [Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Zhao Jun Admitted to Prison
Mr. Zhao Jun has been transferred from Jianshan Prison in Mudanjiang City to the Tailai Prison in Qiqihar City recently. His family weren’t allowed to visit him.
5. [Huludao City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wu Jiufen and Ms. Ling Haijie Sentenced to Prison
Ms. Wu Jiufen from Xingcheng and Ms. Ling Haijie from Yangjiazhangzi were sentenced to one year and two years in prison, respectively, by the Lianshan District Court. They were taken to Liaoning Province's Second Women’s Prison on August 21, 2024.
6. [Jiaohe City, Jilin Province] Four Practitioners Sentenced to Prison
Four practitioners who were arrested in October 2023 have been sentenced to prison.
Ms. Zhang Shuqinwas and her husband, Mr. Yuan Enzhu, were both sentenced to three years and two months, by the Shulan Court, on July 29 and August 6, 2024, respectively. Ms. Zhang is now serving time at the Jilin Province Women’s Prison and Mr. Yuan has been admitted to the Jilin Province Second Prison.
Mr. Wang Aiguo was sentenced to three years. The police framed him by placing Falun Gong materials in his bedroom when they searched his home.
Ms. Liu Shufen was arrested by three officers from Huangsongdian on October 27, 2023. She was taken to the Chang’an Street Police Station and slapped in the face over ten times. She was sentenced to 10 months on July 3, 2024, with a 2,000-yuan fine and was released on August 6, 2024.
7. [Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Ma Shujie Harassed
Ms. Ma Shujie received harassing calls from the staff members of the Xiyuan Residential Community Office in Xi’an District in early October 2024. This isn’t the first time that Ms. Ma, an elementary school teacher, has been targeted for her faith. She and her husband were previously arrested on January 24, 2008, and detained until on March 7, 2008. Ms. Ma was arrested again on November 2, 2012, and given an unknown term in the Qianjin Forced Labor Camp in Harbin City.
8. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhao Hongmei and Ms. Sun Lixin Persecuted
Ms. Zhao Hongmei from Haigang District was arrested in March 2023 and later sentenced to four years in prison with a 5,000 yuan fine. Her workplace fired her shortly after her conviction. She is currently serving time in the Shijiazhuang Women’s Prison. Her family has not been allowed to visit her.
Ms. Sun Lixin was arrested at the same time as Ms. Zhao. She was sentenced to two years in prison. It is unknown where she is detained.
9. [Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners Face Trial
Mr. Lan Qingzhong was arrested at his shop in Yuanbaoshan District, Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia on May 11, 2024, by officers from the Qianjin Police Department in Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province. The 300,000 yuan cash he prepared for his son’s house payment was confiscated. A married couple, Mr. He Hongjun and Ms. Fu Wenhui, from Chaoyang, were arrested in Mr. Lan’s shop. The police beat Mr. Lan in the car while on the way to Chaoyang, causing severe injury to him.
The three practitioners are facing trial after their case have been submitted to the Shuangta District Court in Chaoyang City.
