1. [Gongzhuling City, Jilin Province] Ms. Xu Died in Custody, Weeks After Her Arrest
Ms. Xu (first name unknown), around 75 and of Fanjiatun Town, was arrested on August 7, 2024, together with her daughter Ms. Zhao Dongmei and son Mr. Zhao Longfei. The police seized several boxes of items from them. They were held in the Gongzhuling City Detention Center. Ms. Xu died in early September 2024 in the detention center. But details about her death are unknown.
2. [Panzhihua City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Yao Jiaxiu Detained
Ms. Yao Jiaxiu, a native of Panzhihua City, was arrested at her apartment in Lantian Town, Jiangyang District, Luzhou City, Sichuan Province, on September 20, 2024, by the Jiangyang District Police Department officers. Her apartment was ransacked. She is likely held in the Naxi Detention Center in Luzhou City.
3. [Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province] Ms. Yang Jie Awaits Verdict
Ms. Yang Jie was tried by the Xihu District Court on the morning of August 9, 2024. No verdict was announced. Before her latest persecution, she was previously incarcerated for sixteen years and three months for practicing Falun Gong.
4. [Beijing] Ms. Yang Xiulan Detained
Ms. Yang Xiulan was arrested at home by three officers on the morning of September 23, 2024. The officers ransacked her place, seizing two computers, a printer, a cell phone, and a wad of cash. She is being held in the Caozhuang Village Detention Center in Nankou Town, Changping District.
5. [Xi’an City, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Han Qiuli Harassed
Ms. Han Qiuli was harassed at home by officer Zhang Xiaowei of the Hujiamiao Police Station and two residential district clerks on the afternoon of September 19, 2024. They ransacked her place and took her photos.
6. [Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Ji Jianxia Detained
Ms. Ji Jianxia of Xuanwu District was arrested by the Xuanwu District Police Department officers on August 29, 2024. She is being held in the Nanjing City Detention Center.
7. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Liang Shuzhi Faces Imprisonment
Ms. Liang Shuzhi, 87, was sentenced to three years in prison and fined 20,000 yuan by the Liaozhong Court on March 27, 2023. The Shenyang First Detention Center refused to admit her because of her health condition. The court put her on bail for a year.
Judge Lin Xiaojiao of the Liaozhong Court took Ms. Liang to the hospital for another examination on September 27, 2024, in an attempt to detain her. The result of the examination isn’t clear.
8. [Suining City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Chen Ying Harassed
Ms. Chen Ying was harassed at home by the Nanjinqiao Police Station officers on September 10, 2024. They questioned her if she still practiced Falun Gong and took photos of her against her will.
9. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Luo Yue Detained
Ms. Luo Yue of Jinzhou District was arrested by two plainclothes officers on the morning of September 9, 2024, when she was talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong near the Jinfang Hospital. Her home was ransacked. She is being held in the Dalian Drug Rehabilitation Center.
10. [Meizhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Zeng Xiuqiong and Five Other Practitioners Face Trial
Ms. Zeng Xiuqiong, Ms. Zhang Taofeng, Ms. Xie Guofen, Ms. Li Lizhen, Ms. Huang Shuzhen, and Ms. Liu Meifen were scheduled to stand trial at the Meixian District Court at 9:30 a.m. on September 29, 2024. The prosecutor Li Bing accused them of studying Falun Gong’s teachings together for years.
