(Minghui.org) I began to practice Falun Dafa shortly before the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began to suppress it in July 1999. Although it was a short period of time, all of my illnesses were cured and I was happy.
After the persecution started, the situation changed. Because of the persecution and my husband’s long-time extramarital affairs, we divorced and our college-aged son stayed with me. I had no job or apartment at the time, but I did not complain. It was my faith in Falun Dafa and the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance that gave me strength, helping me to go through those difficult years.
At the age of 63, I still go out often, looking for opportunities to tell people what Falun Dafa is, refute defamatory propaganda from the CCP, and help people sever ties with the regime. The following are several of my stories.
“You Are the Best Person”
Several days ago I was riding my bike on the street at 7 a.m. There was a middle-aged man stopped on his motorcycle. His legs touched the ground as he leaned forward and rested his head on the vehicle, as if sleeping. Realizing something might be wrong, I went up to him and asked if everything was okay and if I could help.
He did not reply. After a brief pause, I continued, “I do not know what has happened, but if you are really uncomfortable, please try reciting ‘Falun Dafa is good’ and ‘Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.’ It will help you, please trust me.”
I waited and after a while, he slowly raised his head and looked at me. With tears in his eyes, he pressed his palms together, bowed to me, and said, “Thank you, thank you. You are the best person I met in this city.” He told me he was indeed feeling ill, but now he felt much better.
With excitement he took money from his pocket to give to me. I replied, “It is Falun Dafa that helped you, you can thank its founder Master Li.” Please keep your money.” As we continued talking, I asked if he had heard about quitting the CCP for a better future. He said he had heard about it, but had not done so. But today he wanted to renounce the CCP organizations.
As I left on my bike, he thanked me again and waved good bye.
A Retired Deputy Party Secretary
One morning when passing through a wealthy residential area, I came across Lin, a retired city Party secretary who, in the past, was often seen on television. Should I talk with him about Falun Dafa, and will he report me to the police? I was hesitant.
Still I did not want to waste this opportunity. So I asked Master Li for help and walked up to Lin. I greeted him and asked if he had heard about Falun Dafa. I told him that whatever he saw on television was just propaganda, and it is being practiced in over 100 countries and is suppressed only in China.
Lin looked at me without saying anything. I continued talking and handed him a bag containing a DVD and some printed materials about Dafa. He accepted them and thanked me. I left and after biking for 10 plus yards, I looked back to see if he would throw the materials away. He was still holding the bag while walking. After a few days, I met Lin again on that street. He said he had read the materials and then accepted more from me. I was happy for him, and next time I hope to tell him about quitting the CCP organizations.
Chatting with a Man on the Street
One day I went up to greet a man walking on the street with a child. He ignored me.
I followed them and said, “I have some very important information for you.” I told the story of the “Red-Eyed Stone Lion”, in which the Bodhisattva came to save people and disguised herself as a beggar. “Those kindhearted people who listened to her were saved, while those who ignored her warning lost their lives in the flood,” I said to him. “I know you're a good person. My son is about the same age as you, and he has quit the CCP organizations already. Right now, no matter where he goes, I am not worried because he is blessed.”
As I went on telling him how Falun Dafa is well accepted around the world and how the CCP made up lies to defame the practice, the man slowed down his walking and listened to me quietly. In the end, he looked very happy and said to me, “I believe you and please help me renounce my membership in the CCP. Thank you!”
A Hot Summer Day
In the years of clarifying the truth, I also met with some rejection. Once on a hot summer afternoon, another practitioner and I went to a nearby village to tell people about Dafa.
There was an elderly woman in a wheelchair. Her husband was working on the land, preparing to build a house. When I went up to greet them, the husband knew that I was a Falun Dafa practitioner and waved his hand at me to go away. The wife did the same. But I was not disturbed and instead asked Master to help me save them.
I went closer and said to the wife, “It’s a hot summer day. Of course, it would be more comfortable staying home today, but we want to help you.” I said, “The pandemic has lasted for a few years and many people were struggling with all kinds of problems. Since ancient times, there was a saying that moral corruption would bring about calamity. That is why anyone affiliated with the CCP organizations could be in trouble when the divine holds the regime accountable for its sins.”
As I continued, the wife listened attentively and began to smile. Her husband also listened while he continued working. Upon hearing the benefits of Dafa on one's mind and body, and how the CCP tried all means to mislead the public while persecuting Falun Dafa practitioners, the wife said, “I used to be a Young Pioneer member. Please help me quit it.” The husband also said the same. I offered them some booklets with Dafa information, and they accepted them all.
Wine Shop Owner
Once when I chatted with a wine shop owner, he agreed with what I said and asked when the CCP would collapse. I said I did not know, but it could be soon when more people knew the nature of the regime. “Please keep it up!” the man nodded and said to me firmly. “The Party is beyond bad – it is vicious and evil!” He said that many students had died during the 1989 Tiananmen Square Massacre. Now the Chinese citizens suffer so much, and have no place to find help. I gave him a USB drive with information about Falun Dafa and how the CCP persecuted practitioners. He said he would pass it on to others afterward, so that more people could learn the facts.
Improving Myself During the Process
Several years ago, I used to be selective and only talked with people whom I felt comfortable approaching. Now I have learned that is not right. Master said,
“Saving people is just that, saving people, and to pick and choose would not be merciful.” (“Fa Teaching Given at the 2009 Greater New York International Fa Conference”, Collected Teachings Given Around the World, Volume IX)
Often I have come across police officers, government agency staff members, or other people who wanted to report me to authorities. But with Master’s help, I have remained safe. I plan to do better and help save more people.
Please point out anywhere I am inconsistent with the Falun Dafa teachings.
