(Minghui.org) The sports department of Val d’Oise, a region neighboring Paris, held a community sports event in June 2024 to bring the excitement of the Paris Olympics to local residents. They invited Falun Gong practitioners to participate and demonstrate the practice’s five exercises as part of the event.
Many people learned the exercises that day. They engaged in meaningful conversations, gaining a deeper understanding of Falun Gong and learning about the persecution by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).
Falun Gong practitioners were a hit with members of the community.
At the event, a lively young woman taught sports dance near the Falun Gong booth and said she was very interested in Falun Gong. She later brought her students to learn the exercises together. They especially enjoyed doing the meditation.
Afterwards, they were gifted bookmarks in their favorite colors; each was inscribed with the words “Falun Dafa is good” and “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good.” They also took home informational flyers and said they would continue to do the exercises.
A young dance teacher came to learn the exercises with her students.
Parents Delighted by Their Child’s Focus and Calmness
A remarkable story from that day involves a six-year-old boy named Kaïs. He approached the Falun Gong booth on his own, politely asking if he could try the exercises. Kaïs was focused the whole time, and thanked the practitioners politely at the end, impressing the Falun Gong practitioners.
Later, Kaïs’s father shared with the practitioners, “I am surprised because I have never seen Kaïs so focused and calm.” The family happily left the booth with informational materials.
After the event, some people asked about where they could go to learn the exercises in the region.
Although the strong winds at the beginning of the day made it challenging for practitioners to set up the booth, they enjoyed a wonderful day of sharing the practice with visitors.
