(Minghui.org) It was recently confirmed by Minghui.org that a 71-year-old Gongzhuling City, Jilin Province, resident, has been sentenced to three years for her faith in Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Ms. Wang Yanhua was arrested at home on the evening of August 14, 2024. Her computer, printer, and informational materials about Falun Gong were confiscated. The police revealed that they targeted her because she was recorded by a surveillance camera at a coffee shop while distributing Falun Gong materials there. She was detained at the Gongzhuling City Lockup and later convicted at an unknown time. Details about her indictment and sentencing aren’t clear.
In addition to Ms. Wang, two other elderly practitioners in Gongzhuling have also been sentenced in 2024 for their shared faith in Falun Gong.
Ms. Fan Chunhua, 72, was arrested on April 27, 2024 after being reported for putting up Falun Gong posters. She was held at the Gongzhuling City Detention Center and sentenced to six months.
Ms. Zheng Shuqin, 63, was arrested on August 30, 2024 for talking to people about Falun Gong and later sentenced to three years.
