(Minghui.org) On January 25, 2025, practitioners held an event in Plovdiv to tell people about the human rights violations in China, specifically the persecution of Falun Dafa by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), which has gone on for 25 years.
Their event was held in front of the stairs of Kamenitsa—one of the central locations of the main pedestrian street in Plovdiv. Many people stopped at the information booth and signed petitions to end the persecution.
Along with a petition condemning the CCP’s human rights abuses, the practitioners also had a petition related to an initiative started by Doctors Against Forced Organ Harvesting (DAFOH). It calls on the Bulgarian government to ensure that the Bulgarian state, civilian entities, and citizens are not directly or indirectly involved in the CCP’s persecution of, and forced organ harvesting from, Falun Dafa practitioners in China.

A Man Plans to Encourage More People to Sign the Petition
Dinyo from Chirpan carefully read the entire pamphlet and signed the petitions. A practitioner asked him if he was local, but he said he was from the practitioner's hometown, where she planned to organize a petition drive. Impressed by the seriousness and uniqueness of the petition, Dinyo exchanged contact information with her and said he intended to bring friends and coworkers to sign the petitions when practitioners held an event there.

A Son Brings His Father to Sign
Fifth grade student Ioan brought his father, who said, “My son is very insistent that I sign, and I will!” The child and his dad learned about the persecution of Falun Gong in China, and practitioners gave Ioan a copy of The Lotus Story, a children’s book written by practitioners that illustrates the principles of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance.

Two women inquired about the nature of the event, and the practitioners talked about the various repressions of the regime in China and the escalation of genocide against Falun Dafa there. They listened, moved and shocked at the same time, and signed the petitions.

Many children were drawn by the booth and the banners, and brought their parents to get more information about the 25 years of ongoing persecution. Practitioners gave them copies of The Lotus Story.
Some people told practitioners that what they were doing is connected to events around the world and they hope every person of conscience signs the petitions. Many people wished the practitioners good luck.
