(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 7 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 9 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.
1. [Foshan City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Cai Xi Arrested
2. [Chongqing] Mr. Liu Arrested
3. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Chen Jinghui Released from Prison
4. [Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Bao Lixia and Ms. Li Yanying Harassed
5. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yang Kuanfen and Ms. Chen Xuemei Arrested
6. [Pengzhou City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Han Xiaofan Harassed
7. [Changsha City, Hunan Province] Ms. Liu Mingli Detained for a Week
1. [Foshan City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Cai Xi Arrested
Ms. Cai Xi, 66, was reported to the police for distributing Falun Gong materials. She was arrested at home by plainclothes officers from the Zumiao Police Station on the afternoon of March 18, 2025. The officers ransacked her home and confiscated her Falun Gong books, a computer, and a printer. Her whereabouts are unknown.
2. [Chongqing] Mr. Liu Arrested
Mr. Liu, in his 70s, from Jiangjin District, was arrested on March 12, 2025, shortly after he returned home after living ten years in displacement to hide from the police. He is now facing prosecution.
3. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Chen Jinghui Released from Prison
Ms. Chen Jinghui was arrested in mid-March 2024 and later sentenced to one year in prison. On March 13, 2025, the day of her release, more than 10 plainclothes officers went to the prison and followed her home. None of them revealed their names or the police station they were associated with. The police also asked for the address of the nursing home her parents were living at.
4. [Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Bao Lixia and Ms. Li Yanying Harassed
Ms. Bao Lixia and Ms. Li Yanying were arrested by officers from the Jiadong Police Station on May 9, 2022, for talking to people about Falun Gong. They were released due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but the police kept harassing them at home.
The police tried to arrest them again in 2023. Ms. Bao was forced into hiding. Unable to find her, the community personnel and police harassed her son and ex-husband numerous times.
Ms. Li was arrested on November 23, 2023, and detained for 15 days. The community personnel and police continued to harass her after she was released, often knocking on her door to check if she was home. They turned off her power supply on one occasion.
Five days before the Chinese New Year on January 29, 2025 and in early March, officers from the Jiadong Police Station harassed Ms. Li two more times.
5. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yang Kuanfen and Ms. Chen Xuemei Arrested
Ms. Yang Kuanfen, 71, and Ms. Chen Xuemei, in her 50s, were recorded by surveillance cameras while talking to people about Falun Gong at around 3 p.m. on March 23, 2025. They were arrested by officers from Qishan Town Police Station in Zhaoyuan City, a county-level city within Yantai City.
As both women refused to answer the interrogation questions, the police took Ms. Chen to Zhaoyuan City Detention Center for 15 days and Ms. Yang to Yantai City Detention Center, despite the fact that she was found to have dangerously high blood pressure. Fearing to bear responsibility for Ms. Yang’s health, the Yantai City Detention Center released her on the afternoon of March 25.
6. [Pengzhou City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Han Xiaofan Harassed
Ms. Han Xiaofan from Mengyang Town was selling vegetables in Yangwan Residential Community on March 4, 2025, when officers from the Pengzhou City Domestic Security Division and local police station walked up to her and asked to verify a few things with her. As Ms. Han refused to go with them, two officers held her arms, one on each side, and dragged her into the car. They took her to Mengyang Police Station and questioned her on whether she reported Xie Furong of the Chongyang Community management office for harassing her in 2024 to the Minghui website. She refused to answer their questions.
7. [Changsha City, Hunan Province] Ms. Liu Mingli Detained for a Week
Ms. Liu Mingli, 62, was reported to the police for distributing Falun Gong materials around 7 p.m. on January 21, 2025. Four officers from the Huoxing Police Station in Furong District followed her home and arrested her. She was held in a detention center in Furong District. The police took her fingerprints and toe prints, recorded her voice, videotaped her, and copied data from her cell phone. She was forced to sign several documents before she was released on January 27.
