(Minghui.org) Today’s news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 11 cities or counties in 6 provinces, where at least 24 practitioners were recently persecuted for their belief.

8. [Jixi City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Wang Shulan Detained
9. [Jixi City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Xu Shujun and His Wife Ms. Wang Chuanyun Under Close Police Surveillance
10. [Qianjiang City, Hubei Province] Ms. Xiong Chunxiu Arrested
1. [Shenyang City, Liaoning Province] Nine Practitioners Arrested
Ms. Ma Xiaoxuan was arrested at home by officers from the Xinghua Police Station on August 14, 2025. The officers then called her husband, Mr. Zhang Rui, and tricked him into returning home, then arrested him. The couple’s Falun Gong books and computer were confiscated.
Mr. Zhang’s father, Mr. Zhang Baodong, was subsequently arrested, and the police confiscated his printers and Falun Gong printouts. Mr. Li Zhongxiao, who lived in the same community with the older Mr. Zhang, was arrested at the same time.
Ms. Wang Fenghua, Mr. Sui Hua, a mother and a daughter, and a fifth practitioner whose name isn’t known, were also arrested.
2. [Xining City, Qinghai Province] Five Practitioners Arrested
Ms. Zhao Zhonghua, Ms. Zhang Hongxia, Ms. Li Shuqin, Mr. Yue, and Ms. Miao Maoling were arrested on the morning of July 21, 2025, by officers from the Chengbei Domestic Security Division, and their homes were ransacked. Ms. Miao was taken to the police department for interrogation and released the same day. The other practitioners’ situations are unknown.
3. [Nong’an County, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Shurong Arrested
Ms. Wang Shurong was arrested at her daughter’s home in Changchun City of the same province on August 15, 2025.
4. [Yilan County, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Li Shuqing and Huang Detained
Ms. Li Shuqin and Huang, gender and first name unknown, were arrested by six officers from the Dongcheng Police Station at noon on August 12, 2025, and their homes were ransacked. They were taken to the Harbin Detention Center on August 15. Ms. Li was given criminal detention.
5. [Harbin City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Ju Changyou Detained
Mr. Ju Changyou was arrested by Lijiang Police Station officers on August 13, 2025, and his home was ransacked. He has been held in a lockup facility.
Mr. Ju’s son also practices Falun Gong, and was previously sentenced to seven years for calling people and telling them about the persecution. The police also intend to arrest him but have failed after three attempts.
6. [Linghai City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Wenying Detained
Ms. Li Wenying was arrested on August 12, 2025, and is being held in the Jinzhou City Detention Center. The police are collecting information to press charges against her.
7. [Beijing] Mr. Wang Hongwei Arrested
Mr. Wang Hongwei was closely monitored by the Tongzhou District Domestic Security Division between May 10 and 13, 2025. The police chained-up his electric bike and didn’t allow him to go to work. He was arrested around July 20.
8. [Jixi City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Wang Shulan Detained
Ms. Wang Shulan was arrested on August 7, 2025, and is being held in the Jixi City Detention Center.
9. [Jixi City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Xu Shujun and His Wife Ms. Wang Chuanyun Under Close Police Surveillance
Mr. Xu Shujun, 92, and his wife, Ms. Wang Chuanyun, 86, lived away from home to avoid the authorities, after both were sentenced to three years in prison in September 2021 by the Jixi County Court. The police recently located them by monitoring their daughter’s phone calls. Ms. Wang is experiencing a severe physical condition. The police are closely monitoring their daily activities.
10. [Qianjiang City, Hubei Province] Ms. Xiong Chunxiu Arrested
Ms. Xiong Chunxiu, 81, of Jianghan Oil Field, was reported to the Guanghua Police Station in 2023 for distributing Falun Gong flyers. The Xiantao City Procuratorate prosecutor summoned her to the police station in the second half of 2024, but she did not cooperate.
Ms. Xiong was arrested at home on the afternoon of July 28, 2025, by staffers from the Xiantao City Intermediate Court, and officers from the Guanghua Police Station. They seized her picture of the founder of Falun Gong, Falun Gong books and printouts, a cell phone, and an address book. They ordered her to sign her arrest warrant, but she refused. She was taken to a hospital for a physical exam, and was subsequently denied admission to the local lockup, due to having high blood pressure. She has been released, but is being closely monitored by the police.
