(Minghui.org) As a Falun Dafa practitioner in China, I could not imagine seeing practitioners like those described in “Thoughts About Shen Yun Members Who Left Feeling Resentful.” Having endured the harsh suppression in China, I always envied practitioners who lived in a free society outside of China. I assumed that any practitioner involved in Shen Yun or Fei Tian would have a smooth cultivation journey given the supportive environment that encourages mutual growth. I now realize that this belief stemmed from an everyday person’s mindset.
Cultivation during Fa rectification is serious, and it’s essential that we cultivate solidly. Regardless of how favorable the environment may be, we must genuinely cultivate—no one else can undertake this journey for us. Enduring hardship is an integral part of cultivation. Even everyday people must persevere and work hard to achieve significant accomlishments; how much more must someone burdened with desires and karma, aspiring to become a divine being—especially one created by Dafa—strive to transcend themselves? It would be impossible if he just wanted to lead a happy, comfortable, and selfish life. Dafa practitioners are a group of cultivators, not members of a club seeking entertainment.
Cultivators are individuals who in every kind of conflict, remember to behave and think like cultivators. They constantly look within based on the Fa, actively eliminating their attachments and desires in order to elevate themselves and ultimately achieve consummation.
During Fa rectification, the requirements for practitioners in free environments outside of China are just as strict as that for practitioners in China, who face severe persecution. The requirements might even be stricter for practitioners outside of China because they live in a more relaxed environment. Those who do not genuinely cultivate will be sieved out by the old forces.
Practitioners who have remained steadfast in their cultivation—especially in a tough cultivation environment—have developed an unshakable faith in Master and Dafa over the past two decades. They regard defamation and slander against Master and Dafa as both pathetic and absurd; they will not be swayed by the lies that come from misguided individuals’ negative notions and emotions.
Why do Fa disrupters continue to emerge, attempting to undermine Dafa and vent their dissatisfaction? Who, exactly, are the old forces targeting as they manipulate these disrupters? My understanding is that the old forces focus on those who do not have a righteous belief in the Fa, as their cultivation has long been lacking.
A practitioner who traveled outside of China several times once shared an observation with me. She noticed that in one country, many young practitioners who worked in the media were rarely studying the Fa or doing the exercises, and hardly ever visited the Minghui.org website. As a result, they lacked a clear understanding of cultivation. She remarked that this situation was widespread. She even encountered a practitioner who had been entangled in a conflict for an extended period. As his tribulation intensified and he was not able pass the test, he began to doubt and blame Master.
Those who do not study the Fa or have not truly obtained the Fa have no concept of cultivation. Unable to view conflicts and tribulations from the perspective of a cultivator, they respond to tribulations with ordinary human notions and emotions. Because they can not examine their inner thoughts based on the Fa, they are bound to treat what happens to them with human notions and emotions. Without examining their inner thoughts according to the Fa, they may deem the suffering, which is meant to help them improve, as something that is unjust, and their levels subsequently drop. When they repeatedly miss opportunities that can help them elevate, their karma cannot be eliminated. Their jealousy and resentment will thus be magnified by the evil, which leads them to lose control of their righteous thoughts.
The progress of cultivation waits for no one. Once someone embarks on the path of cultivation, Master rearranges everything in his life. If a person struggles with one test, and the next test comes up, it becomes difficult for him to pass the tests and eliminate karma. Cultivation will become challenging and he may eventually give up. If he then encounters a Fa disrupter or someone with false enlightenment—arrangements made by the old forces—he may become confused and join the evil. Such individuals may then do things to disrupt the Fa and destroy the beings that are supposed to be saved. Over the years we’ve seen cases like this. If one day they realize their mistakes, how can they face the immense karma they’ve created and the beings lost because of their actions? Can they still fulfill the contract signed with their life? Failing to genuinely cultivate is both painful and dangerous.
I also believe that practitioners should refrain from listening to or reading materials created by Fa disrupters or those with false enlightenment, even out of curiosity. By doing so, the practitioners will avoid giving these negative influences a platform or boost their internet traffic and energy in other dimensions. Of course we do not want to pollute ourselves by willingly listening to or reading these materials. Instead, we should send righteous thoughts to eliminate all evils that manipulate these irrational people.
