(Minghui.org) Over the past 26 years of protesting the persecution and telling people the truth about Falun Dafa, I have come to deeply understand that whether they are public security, procuratorial, or judicial personnel, or members of the 610 Office, they all come seeking the truth. Once people understand Dafa, they will develop benevolent thoughts and make the right choice for their future. I will share a few stories about my interactions with them.
A Good Opportunity to Clarify the Truth Is Missed
I worked in a senior-level position in technology and also ran a local Falun Gong (also known as Falun Dafa) assistance center. After the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began persecuting Falun Gong on July 20, 1999, I was listed as a key surveillance target in my area.
In a mass arrest incident in 2002, I was arrested, and the information center I was responsible for was destroyed. After being sent to the detention center, I quickly realized that this ordeal was due to my initial ill intentions and improper thoughts, which had provided the evil forces with an excuse to persecute me.
A year ago, the head of the city’s 610 Office (security office responsible for the persecution of Falun Gong in China) arrived at my workplace with a group of officials from the public security bureau, procuratorate, and court, once again pressured me to give up my faith. This was a rare opportunity to clarify the truth, but I forgot Master’s teachings and felt intense hostility toward them.
When the 610 Office leader asked me, “Have you made up your mind?” Instead of calmly explaining the truth to them, I spoke without the compassionate spirit of a Falun Gong practitioner and told them, “No matter what persecution I may face, my future is bright; but your fate will be tragic!” I then turned and left.
In the afternoon, the head of the security department at my workplace told me, “You’d better be careful! Your remarks in the meeting room this morning infuriated them. The director of the 610 Office said you were too arrogant and told those around him to find a reason to deal with you.”
Seizing Opportunities to Share the Goodness of Falun Dafa
While my arrest was retaliation, it was also a result of flaws in my cultivation and could be said to be caused by my unrighteous thoughts. Thus, I sincerely repented to Master, and resolved to strictly adhere to the standards of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance and to treat everyone kindly, including those in the public security, procuratorate, courts, and the 610 Office.
Head of Criminal Investigation Team Reads Zhuan Falun
An incident that occurred at the detention center left a deep impression on me. One morning, the head of the criminal investigation team at the district public security bureau called me to his office and took out a copy of Zhuan Falun from his pocket. He said, “Why can’t I understand this book?”
I smiled and said, “Even people with little education can understand this book, so how can you, a top graduate from the police academy, not understand it? Because this isn’t just any book; it’s Dafa. Although the language is simple, people with heavy karma can’t understand it.”
He was surprised and asked, “What should I do?” I said, “You must treat Dafa disciples kindly!” He nodded. He then relayed a message to me: The police were secretly reading Dafa books; they, too, were seeking the truth!
A Kindhearted Policeman
After practitioners in the detention center went on a collective hunger strike in protest, we were taken to a brainwashing class. Practitioners were detained separately, with two “helpers” closely monitoring each person. The “helpers” assigned to me were police officers Song and Zen. Song was a kind, middle-aged man who was very friendly when he met me.
After dinner, the three of us chatted, and I told them about Falun Dafa. After hearing the truth, Song sincerely asked me, “What do you want?” “I want to practice Falun Gong!” I blurted out. Song immediately said, “Alright.” He then said to Zen, “Tonight, we’ll sleep, and he can practice!” And so, from that first night on, I resumed my regular practice and sending forth righteous thoughts.
Two days later, Song quietly said to me, “You need to find a way to get out of here!” I inquired as to how to do that. He replied, “Get medical parole to treat your illness!” When he mentioned illness, I told him that before practicing, I had severe coronary heart disease and hypertension, but after practicing, I recovered quickly; however, after being held this time, I experienced palpitations and dizziness.
He told me, “If you feel any discomfort, tell me immediately!” Sure enough, I soon experienced several abnormal conditions. Song immediately reported it to his superiors, quickly called a doctor, and kept detailed records of my health.
One day, Song spoke to me seriously: “You must apply for hospitalization immediately!” I wrote a report requesting hospitalization, but after reviewing it, he said, “No, it’s too brief!” Song immediately took out his own notebook and told me, “Write it in detail according to this record.” When I opened it, I saw that he had meticulously documented all the symptoms I had experienced over the past few days. I was deeply moved—he truly was a kindhearted person!
I realized that my encounter with Song and the reappearance of my earlier illness symptoms were all part of Master’s compassionate protection and arrangement! Years later, Song came to visit me at home, and I helped him quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and related organizations.
Director of 610 Office Begins to Understand Dafa
On my third day in the hospital, Director Yu from the city’s 610 Office came to visit me, but I knew he was there to attempt to transform me. I decided that since he has come, I should use this opportunity to clarify the truth about Dafa to him.
So, before he even got to the point, I asked, “Have you read the political report from the 16th National Congress of the Communist Party of China?” He said he had. I said, “The report specifically criticized the June 4th Incident and Taiwanese independence, but it didn’t mention Falun Gong at all...” Before I could finish, he interrupted, “Not only did it not mention Falun Gong, it didn’t even mention cults.” I knew he was already doubting the legitimacy of this persecution.
I continued, “The persecution of Falun Gong has been going on with great fanfare for three years, and has been exaggerated to the point of extermination, with threats like the destruction of the Party and the nation, and a life-and-death struggle. Yet, there’s not a single mention of it in the political report. Isn’t that strange?” He said helplessly, “Perhaps it’s a strategy?”
I smiled and said, “It’s definitely not a strategy! This is tantamount to announcing to the entire Party and the country that the 15th Central Committee bears no responsibility for the suppression of Falun Gong!” He said, “That makes sense.”
So I told him about the events leading up to the April 25th mass appeal, how former leader Jiang Zemin wrote a letter to the Politburo Standing Committee slandering Falun Gong, and how Jiang Zemin decided to suppress Falun Gong on his own despite the opposition of the other six members of the Standing Committee.
Then I said, “Of course, the other six members of the Standing Committee would not take the blame for Jiang Zemin’s criminal acts of trampling on the constitution and violating the law. That is why Falun Gong was not mentioned in the political report.” He nodded silently.
After understanding the truth, Yu later provided me with a great deal of help. After I was sentenced, he worked tirelessly to secure my release on medical parole. He personally escorted me from prison and tactfully reminded me to protect myself and avoid further imprisonment. Later, I heard he had left the 610 Office.
National Security Brigade Officer Began Studying Zhuan Falun
At the end of 2003, the day after I was released on medical parole and returned home, Officer Ding from the National Security Brigade of the District Public Security Bureau arrived at my home with a sullen expression. He bluntly asked, “What connections do you have to allow you to return home? Do you know? No one at the Public Security Bureau agrees to your return!”
I thought to myself, “You don’t have the final say, my Master has the final say!” I smiled faintly and said, “Please sit down.” He explained that he had been assigned by the bureau to monitor me, and then made several demands.
As Ding and I spent more time together and he got to know me better, his attitude gradually became friendlier, and he began to ask many questions, clearly showing that he was unaware of many things.
So I started by explaining why I practice Falun Gong, why I would rather be sentenced to prison than give up my practice, and then went on to discuss the truth behind the “April 25th petition” and the CCP-staged “Tiananmen Square self-immolation” incident. He was very willing to listen and often asked questions. Every time he came to my home, he would spend a long time talking with me.
One day the following year, Officer Ding and I were talking about gardening. I said, “Not only are animals living beings, but plants are living beings too.” He replied, “I know that.” When I mentioned that plants also have senses, thoughts, and emotions, he exclaimed in surprise, “How do you know that?” I said, “My Master explained it in Zhuan Falun.” “In which section?” he asked eagerly. I replied, “In the section on ‘Collecting Qi.’”
He paused and then said, “How come I didn’t notice that? I must go back and...” He stopped abruptly, realizing he had slipped up, his face turning red as he gave me an awkward smile. I quickly responded with a knowing grin. He had read Zhuan Falun! He was the third police officer I knew who had read the Falun Gong book, and I was truly happy for him!
Later, after the publication of the book Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party and the rise of the Three Withdrawals (resigning from the CCP and affiliated organizations) movement, I showed him photos of the “Stone with Hidden Characters.” I explained the principle related to Heaven eliminating the Chinese Communist Party and the significance of withdrawing from the Party. He declared his withdrawal from the Party under a pseudonym and expressed his sincere gratitude.
Discussing the Truth of Dafa With Judiciary Personnel
In late May 2015, several fellow practitioners and I filed a lawsuit against Jiang Zemin with the Supreme People’s Procuratorate. Subsequently, we heard that some Dafa practitioners had been persecuted for filing the lawsuit. One day in late autumn, more than ten people suddenly broke into my home. Among them were five people in police uniforms, as well as the director of my workplace, the head of the security department, the head of the retirement office, and representatives from the neighborhood committee.
One of the police officers was the newly appointed chief of the local police station. I understood that they had come because of the lawsuit, and this was a good opportunity for me to share the truth of Dafa with those who were meant to hear it. After everyone had seated themselves, the police chief said, “We’ve come today to meet you and get to know each other.” I replied, “Welcome.” He then said, “If you have any needs or thoughts, feel free to share them.”
So I began by recounting the widespread popularity of Falun Gong and the benefits I have experienced in both body and mind after practicing it. I then mentioned that in the second half of 1998, Qiao Shi, then Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, personally led a delegation to conduct an independent investigation into Falun Gong. The investigation concluded that “Falun Gong is beneficial to the country and its people in every way and is not harmful whatsoever,” and this conclusion was reported to the central authorities.
I explained the events surrounding the “April 25th incident,” noting that Jiang Zemin did not hold He Zuoxiu and the Tianjin Public Security Bureau accountable for instigating the incident, but instead framed Falun Gong and carried out the persecution in violation of the constitution and the law. I talked about false information and defamation of Falun Gong by the media after July 20, 1999, particularly regarding the fabricated claims of fundraising.
I mentioned the numerous inconsistencies in the staged CCP Tiananmen Square self-immolation incident and the public statement by the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) at the United Nations General Assembly declaring that “this was an act of state-sponsored terrorism orchestrated by the Chinese government to suppress Falun Gong,” among other things. They all listened attentively.
When I mentioned that Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to torture, with at least nearly 4,000 Falun Gong practitioners killed as a result of persecution, and tens of thousands of Falun Gong practitioners had their organs harvested while still alive, they were all deeply shocked. Especially when they heard that four hospitals in this city had been exposed internationally for their involvement in the crime of live organ harvesting, they looked at each other in astonishment.
I then mentioned that 210,000 Falun Gong practitioners (including myself) had filed a formal complaint with the Supreme People’s Court and the Supreme People’s Procuratorate, accusing Jiang Zemin of crimes against humanity. I also spoke about the global spread of Falun Gong. Finally, I told them: Justice will inevitably triumph over evil, and good will be rewarded and evil punished. This is the law of nature that no one can resist!
I spoke for over forty minutes, and they listened quietly, without interrupting or moving around. Finally, the director said, “Alright, you’ve given us an unforgettable lesson! Goodbye.” Then he led everyone out. This was the most extended and most detailed truth-clarification session I’ve had in over twenty years, and the largest audience ever. I deeply understood that this was Master’s compassionate arrangements and blessings upon Dafa practitioners!
I will always remember Master’s teachings, remain compassionate, and use kindness and compassion to tirelessly share the truth of Falun Dafa and encourage people to quit the Chinese Communist Party.
