(Minghui.org) A Ruzhou City, Henan Province, resident was admitted to prison on December 18, 2025, to serve a two-year term she was given five years ago for her faith in Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline that has been persecuted by the Chinese communist regime since 1999.
Ms. He Wenxia was arrested on June 24, 2020, by Hao Yaqiang, captain of Ruzhou City Domestic Security Office, while she was working out of town. The police later submitted her case to the Lushan County Procuratorate and released her on bail after she failed the physical exam required for continued detention.
The Lushan County Court sentenced Ms. He to two years at an unknown time. She appealed, but lost the case. Due to her poor health, she wasn’t ordered to start serving time immediately.
Agents of the Ruzhou City Domestic Security Office arrested Ms. He on October 20, 2025. She was first held at a hospital and then taken to a detention center. She was admitted to the Xinxiang Women’s Prison on December 18.
Since the onset of the persecution of Falun Gong in 1999, both Ms. He and her husband, Mr. Chang Xinqin, a former teacher with the Pingdingshan Foreign Language School, have been repeatedly targeted for upholding their shared faith.
Mr. Chang was twice sentenced to six years in prison and also fired by his school. The authorities kept harassing him and his wife after he was finished serving the second prison term on March 22, 2020.
