(Minghui.org) Minghui.org previously reported on the intensified persecution of Falun Gong practitioners in Hebei Province, including Cangzhou City and its subordinate counties, in September 2026. The practitioners were harassed at home or work, and had their pictures taken against their will.
This article presents additional persecution cases in three towns of Nanping County (part of Cangzhou region) that were recently confirmed.
Wangsi Town: 4 Harassed
Ms. Li Yuhua and Ms. Zhang Xiuying were harassed at home on the afternoon of September 9, by officers from the Wangsi Town Police Station.
The police returned to Ms. Li’s home on September 16 and confiscated some of her Falun Gong books and a music player she used to do the Falun Gong exercises. They threatened to arrest her. The same group of officers next went to Ms. Zhang’s home and confiscated her Falun Gong books and informational materials, music player, DVDs bearing Falun Gong information, and a smart phone.
Ms. Zhang was taken to the Nanpi County Domestic Security Office for interrogation in the evening. She wasn’t released until around 10:30 p.m. after her village officials pleaded with the police.
The police took Ms. Zhang back into custody the next day (September 17) to go through some “paperwork.” They then drove her to the hospital for a physical exam and paid the exam fee (around 1,000 yuan) from the mobile bank account in her confiscated phone.
Ms. Zhang, who has mobility issues after taking a fall years ago, was released after the physical exam.
Besides Ms. Zhang and Ms. Li, two other Wangsi Town residents were also harassed at home and had their pictures taken, including Ms. Sui Yunxia (harassed on September 16) and Mr. Huang Jinkui (harassed on September 19).
